I frowned and blinked my eyes.
With that gaze of him, I felt intimitated. Stepping back, I let go of his wrist but he quickly grabbed onto mine and jerked me closer.
"How do you think I know. Hmm... Sarang?" He asked me, again.
I struggled from his grip and looked away, trying to get distance from him.
"Let go of me," I told him.
He laughed and with his other hand, he grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.
Was he going to attack me again? It was dark. No one would notice if it happened.
A slight fear came across me."Y-you were the one on the phone, weren't you?" I asked, between clenched teeth.
His face fell and he frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
I frowned and jerked my face away from his grip. Rubbing the place he touched me, I eyed him.
He looked astonished, no surprised... Or was he hurt?
I couldn't make out, but he soon recovered by plastering a smirk on his face.
He put his hands in his pockets and tilted his chin slightly."You. Haven't I warned you to be careful around others?"
I frowned. "What are you talking about?"
He let out a sigh, but then smiled weakly. "I admit that I was the first one you talked with on the phone. I helped you overcome your fear, but this is how you treat me back? Calling others behind my back?"
I frowned. He was starting to get angry again. He took a step towards me and I took one back.
"Then how... if it wasn't you. How...?" I stuttered.
"If you are that desperate to know. I have always known you from Naeun's diary. After she died, I found out that she has a twin. And when I met you, I lied about not knowing you."
I thought so that he behaved strange when we first met.
"Then you knew all along," I muttered.
"Now don't go and change the subject!" He grabbed my shoulders and turned me around, pushing my back against the wall.
With his arms stretched, he looked down at me as I winced in pain.
"I told you before that you are mine! How many times have I told you? Ah~ Now I think about it. You flirted with Hoseok earlier when we were escaping." He told me.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"I never said that I was your girlfriend," I said, irritated.
"Naeun was. Why can't you, too?"
I frowned. What is he talking about?
"The first day you came. I recognized you instantly that you were her sister. Naeun told me so much about you in her diary. And the day she died..."
He stopped to gulp down the feelings that was bothering him. The feeling that Naeun left him. The pain that had never left his heart.
His eyes started to shimmer more and it was because he was tearing.
His voice became soft.
"Naeun told me she would never leave me, but then she did. Having you by my side feels like a part of her is still with me. But why... why do I have that feeling that you will slowly slip away from me?"
He choked on his words and his grip tightened on my shoulder.
I bit my lip and frowned. I didn't know. It was the first time I saw him like this. I didn't know what to do. I was confused.
"Please promise me," he begged. "That you will never leave my side."
I was lost for words. Should I promise him?
His tears slipped down his cheeks and he let out a sob.
"Jimin,... I..."
My heart broke. I was confused and didn't know what I could say to not send him deeper in that state.
"Tell me..." he wailed softly.
"She won't."
I turned my head to the sudden voice. There was Taehyung standing with his long coat and hands in his pockets. The place where he stood casted a shadow over us.
Jimin quickly wiped away his tears and let go of me by stepping back.
Taehyung walked over to me and grabbed my wrist, and pulled me with him.
"Leave him." Taehyung told me. I widened my eyes and looked back at Jimin who was watching us teary-eyed. He was hurt. I couldn't leave him like that.
I jerked my arm back, making Taehyung turn around surprised.
"I can't leave him like that," I told him. Taehyung sighed and eyed me exasperated.
"Stop thinking that you can save him. Can't you see it's one of his attempt to persuade you? Trying to act pitiful." Taehyung scoffed.
Jimin bit away his tears and changed his expression. He looked hard at him.
"You are just jealous and still bitter about the fact that Naeun chose me over you," he snorted at him.
Taehyung let out a low breath.
"It happened years, ago."
Jimin smirked and took a step closer to me. Putting his hands in his pockets, he cocked his head to the side and mocked him:
"You don't think she would fall for you, do you?" Jimin said.
Taehyung smirked and tilted his chin. "I do. She's mine, midget."
With that said, Taehyung grabbed my wrist and pulled me strongly against him. Falling over my own feet from the sudden force, Taehyung grabbed onto my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
With my nose in the crook of his neck, I breathed in his scent.
Sensing the jealous glare Jimin sent us, he scoffed lightly and pulled something out from his pocket.
Throwing it down in front of my feet, he turned him around and walked away.
Taehyung let go of me and looked down at me.
"Are you alright?"
I nodded and bent down to pick up what Jimin threw at me. Patting the dirt away from the cover, I examined the front. It was a journal.
Naeun's journal.
