Chapter 14

Marnie's P.O.V

Once I was packed, I made way way downstairs. I was stopped once again by my mom.

"What now mom?" I asked

"Nothing. Just have fun" mom said. She just stared at me but there was something about her stare. It has 'I know' written all over it.

"Alright, mom. I'll see you tomorrow" I said. Mom nodded and went up to her room. I quickly rushed out of the house.

Once I got inside, I was greeted by Paul.

"That was fast" Paul said

"Well I just wanted to get out of there" I said

"What happened?" Paul asked. I grabbed Paul's hand and brought him over to the couch. We both sat down on the couch.

"I think my mom knows" I said

"About us?" Paul asked

"Yes. She saw me climb out the window and then she asked me about it" I said

"What did you tell her?" Paul asked

"I said that she must have been smoking pot again because she was seeing things" I said. Paul let out a laugh.

"What else did she say?" Paul asked

"Nothing else after that but she did stop me just before I came over her. She gave me this stare and then went up to her room" I said. Paul nodded and then stayed silent. He had a concentrated look on his face.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked

"Maybe we should tell her" Paul said

"What!? Are you crazy!?" I asked

"Well she already suspects us, doesn't she? We might as well tell her" Paul said

"But-" I said. Paul put his finger to my lips.

"Love, we're telling her. If she calls the school to get me fired, then I'll just quit. She wouldn't call the cops because you're almost an adult. The worse thing that she can do is keeping me from seeing you" Paul said. I grabbed his hand and held it.

"Alright. Let's go over and tell her" I said. Paul smiled and then pulled me into a passionate kiss. He pulled away and rested his forehead on mine.

"What was that for?" I asked

"In case I don't get to see you again" Paul said

Paul and I held hands as we stood in front of my house. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer. It opened and revealed my mom.

"Mom, we have something to tell you" I said. She looked between Paul and I then looked down at our connected hands.

"Come in" mom said.

Paul and I sat across from my mom at the kitchen table.

"Is there something you two want to confess to me?" mom asked. I looked to Paul and he gave me a nod. I then looked at my mom.

"Yes there is. Paul and I love each other" I said. My mom was silent as she leaned back in her chair. She looked at Paul.

"Is this true Paul?" mom asked

"Yes it is Lydia. I've been in love with your daughter since I first laid eyes on her" Paul said. Mom nodded.

"Do you promise that you'll never do anything to hurt Marnie, both physically and emotionally?" mom asked

"I would never break her heart and I would never ever abuse her" Paul said.

"Then you two have my blessing for this relationship. I just need to know a couple more things" mom said

"What is it?" I asked

"Have you two had sex yet?" mom asked

"Yes" Paul and I said.

"Did you two use protection?" mom asked.

"No but I'm on my birth control. We should be fine" I said

"Paul, do you ever plan on marrying Marnie?" mom asked. Paul gently squeezed my hand and smiled.

"Of coarse. I also want to have children with her but when we're married" Paul said. Mom showed a pleased smile.

"That's all I need to know. Just don't let your father find out. I'm alright with this relationship but your father might not be" mom warned

"You won't tell him, right?" I asked

"Heavens no! I'm happy for both of you and I don't need him ruining that" mom said.

"Thanks mom" I said. Mom smiled.

"It's nothing you need to thank me for" mom said. Paul and I booth stood up and headed for the door.

"Just be careful, you two. If anyone catches you two, you'll both be in trouble" mom warned. Paul and I left and made our way back to his house.

As soon as Paul and I were inside, his arms were wrapped around my waist.

"See love, that wasn't so bad" Paul said

"I'm just glad she's okay with it" I said. Paul started kissing my neck. My eyes fluttered closed and I leaned my head back.

"Paul?" I asked.

"Hmm?" he hummed against my neck.

"When you told my mom you want to marry someday, is that true?" I asked

"Yes. I really love you Marnie and I'd love to spend the rest of my life with you" Paul said

"I love you too Paul and I'd really love to be your wife someday" I said. His lips were then on mine. I then realized something and pulled away from him.

"What's wrong, love?" Paul asked

"Jane. Aren't you marrying her soon?" I said. Paul let out a sigh.

"Not anymore. I think I'm going to end things off with her tomorrow" Paul said. That's when I remembered I still had a date with Andrew tomorrow.

"Andrew..." I mumbled

"What about him?" Paul said

"I've still got my date with him tomorrow" I said

"You're still going on that date. I just don't want him to try anything with you" Paul said

"I promise I won't. Will I still bump into you tomorrow?" I said

"Oh yeah. I almost forgot that I was going to bring Jane and run into you and Andrew. I'll break up with her after our date. I need an excuse to run into you two tomorrow" Paul said. I let out a giggle and then kissed him again.

"I love you Paul" I said

"I love you too" Paul said
