Show #6 - Playing Pretend

Crow was left with the rest of the Plasmagica girls near the fountain. They all agreed that it would be best for Cyan to seek out Shu. It had been half an hour since they all agreed to meet at the fountain at a certain time and Shu had not shown.

Cyan walked quickly past the stores, she noticed that a pack of girls were huddled near one particular store. But Shu's golden hair was no where in sight.

"Where is he?! We saw him not too long ago!" One girl whined.

"If I give him my number, do you think he'll call me back?!" One girl asked enthusiastically.

Cyan sighed, "Crow was right.. He is really popular. Even here-"

Suddenly a hand covered Cyan's mouth and pulled Cyan from behind. Cyan shut her eyes tightly. What?! Am I being abducted?!

Cyan opened her eyes to see that she was dragged into a wedding dress store, hiding in between two wedding dresses on a bottom rack. In front of her, Shu looked at Cyan with a concerned look.

"Sorry neko-chan. I didn't mean to startle you. I just didn't know how to grab your attention without causing a commotion."

Cyan caught her breath, "Are you being stalked Shu?"

Shu nodded, "I was just having fun with the girls at first, but I didn't think they'd be so clingy. I insisted that I needed to go and they kept following."

Cyan sighed, "Shu. You can't be doing things like that. I don't want you to get hurt or anything."

Shu stuck out a toungue and held up his scratched hand, "Too late ~"

Cyan gasped and dug into her small blue satchel. She pulled out a pink bandaid and placed it over Shu's cut.

Shu laughed, "Pink. Very cute."

Cyan pouted, "Shh! At least we have it covered."

"I'm sorry this happened." Shu apologized. "I need to think of a diversion or something..."

Cyan stared at Shu's puzzled face. He was putting all his effort to think up a plan.

Shu pounded his fist against his other hand, "I know! You can pretend to be my girlfriend!"

Cyan flinched, "W-What?! You're kidding?!"

Shu shook his head, "I mean it! The girls will be heartbroken and leave!"

"No no no no no! They won't believe it! A good-looking guy with a normal girl like me?! No way!"

Shu grinned, "So you think I'm good-looking ~"

"Shu!!"

Shu laughed quietly, "Believe me. You're very cute neko-chan. It'll work. Trust me."

Shu took Cyan's hand and pulled her out from the wedding dresses. Luckily, no one caught them hiding. Cyan was nervous. Not sure what she was getting herself into.

"Ah! My love!" Shu pulled Cyan close to him in front of the store. "I've finally found you!"

The pack of girls turned in Shu's direction. Voices murmured within the group.

"There he is!!"

"Wait who's that girl? His girlfriend?"

Cyan gulped, "I'm telling you Shu. This won't work."

Shu placed his finger over Cyan's lips. He exchanged a gentle smile with her, speaking with his eyes.

Trust me.

Cyan took a deep breath and composed herself. The group of girls were inching closer.

One girl shouted, "Is that your girlfriend Shu?!"

"No way! I'm way better!!" One girl said disgustingly.

Cyan cringed and Shu held Cyan's hand tighter.

"Why yes! She's my one and only!" Shu replied.

"Prove it!" One girl gawked.

Cyan looked at Shu with wide eyes. Unsure what she should do and what Shu had in store. Shu held Cyan closer.

"See? We're a lovey-dovey couple!" Shu chimed.

"As if!" The girl yelled.

Shu looked into Cyan's eyes again. Trust me. His face inched closer to Cyan's. Cyan's face grew hot and her eyes grew wider. Her heart was racing through her chest and she was hoping that Shu couldn't hear it. She could feel her pulse bounding in her ears.

Shu kissed Cyan right at the corner of her lips, masking a real kiss. His lips were soft and supple. Even though it wasn't a lip to lip kiss, Cyan felt flooded by different emotions. She couldn't pin point how she was feeling, it was all too much.

Shu pulled his face back and watched as the sea of disappointed and angry girls parted their separate ways. He looked back down at Cyan, who was frozen still.

"I missed ~" Shu teased.

Cyan took a deep breath, "A-As long as they're not bothering you anymore! Common!"

Shu stood still, maintaining his grasp on Cyan's wrist, "I got you something."

Cyan blinked and turned back around to Shu.

Shu pulled out of his pocket, a sterling bracelet filled with little bright pink sakura flower charms. It glimmered under the light and Cyan couldn't take her eyes off of the cute trinket.

"Thought I'd get you something for good luck for the mission," Shu grinned. "I saw it at the wedding store but I think it suits you. Hold out your hand."

Cyan held out her hand as Shu clasped the bracelet around Cyan's wrist. It was a perfect fit. A fuzzy but warm feeling enveloped her.

"Thank you Shu.. You didn't have to get me anything. I don't know what to say..." Cyan whispered, playing with the charms.

Shu winked, "I owe you for today."

"CYYYAAAAN!" Moa's voice echoed from above.

Cyan looked up to see Moa waving her hands down at Cyan from the next floor, the rest of Plasmagica and Crow standing beside her.

"Let's goooo!" Moa yelled.

Cyan laughed, "Alright!!"

Cyan made her way to the elevator with Shu following from behind. Cyan could still feel a tingling sensation where Shu's lips touched the corner of her lips. She touched the are with her fingers and soon shook her head. It was just for show. It didn't mean anything.

Cyan met with the rest of the group. Crow stared darkly at the bracelet wrapped around her wrist, then looked at Shu with piercing eyes. Shu chuckled to himself and looked back at Crow with pride.

The girls headed to the exit and the boys followed far behind.

"You have some guts fox..." Crow growled.

"You just need to step up your game hedgehog." Shu flipped his hair.

Cyan looked back, "Hurry up guys! You two are so slow!"

Crow and Shu raced towards Cyan's direction, butting each other's shoulders and glaring into each others eyes. Crow ending up at Cyan's right and Shu at Cyan's left. Cyan hooked her arms into each of the boys' arms.

Cyan giggled, "Thanks for such a fun day!"

The group made their way out of the mall, uncertain of what the next week held in store for them.
