I left early that morning while she was still sleeping. That probably wasn't the best move to play, but had I lingered any longer I would've tried to take her away with me to a safer place.

The ship slowly took off with me and the rest of my crew. Patch had stayed behind of course, but Zenith had assured us many times that the Dragons would be able to stay in touch with us. As reassuring as that sounded, I still had my doubts.

Jewel walked over to where I was standing and placed a hand on my shoulder. She had never been one to display much affection, so this gesture had surprised me a bit.

"I know you're worried for what's to come. But we're Pirates for a reason, we live for adventure. It's in our blood."

"I know, and we have traveled a lot and fought things.. but this time seems different."

"Because Aida is involved."

"Yes, I don't want her to be caught up in something like this."

"It's because you love her Souls." Jewel said smiling.

"Of course I love her, but it seems more complicated than that."

"It's not," she smiled and looked down at the swirling currents that seemed to be pulling us at a faster pace.

"We're getting closer," I presumed and watched as a small vortex began to appear out of nowhere. Was this what Sedna had been talking about?

Jewel and the guys began arming themselves the closer we got to the swirling pool of water. Something didn't seem right about this. While we were being pulled, all the other water was calm around us. Coincidence? Not likely.

A red flame shot up out of the water as it bursts into the sky with a roar. Now that wasn't supposed to happen either...

"What was that?" Corkscrew asked, his sword shaking.

"I don't know..." 'Alabaster we're here, but there's something fishy going on. Please hurry.' I pleaded in my head.

'On our way, be there soon.'

"Well," I said looking at my crew, "it was great knowing ya guys."

They all looked down, no one wanted to admit that this might be the end for us all. Hell even I didn't want to admit it either, but this was something way out of our league.

"You're a good Captain, Souls," Jewel said and nearly dropped her sword when she pointed at something.

In the water there was a huge black object beginning to rise up. It's big snout and beady eyes stared at us while rising higher and higher. The scales and feet on it were the size of a Dragon, making the whole body over a hundred feet.

"Wha.. What is that?"

A low wail came out of it's mouth as it started to breach.

"Kragon! Abandon ship! Abandon ship!" I yelled as it came crashing down in the water and made tsunami-like waves come sweeping onto our decks.

The crew scattered as they began climbing rails and seeing if they could sit higher up and fight from there.

'Alabaster, hurry! There's a Kragon attacking us and we're not even in the vortex yet!'

It loomed up again and stuck it's head straight down through my ship as both sides creaked and buckled from the weighted force.

"Shit," I muttered and looked to see where the rest of my crew was. My ship was in ruins and anger was coursing through my blood, how dare this creature destroy my ship!

"Caleb!" Jewel cried as she grabbed Scoundrel's arm and was trying to pull him up. They were all on the other side of the broken half. Holding on for dear life.

"Hang on!" I yelled and let go of the pole as I started sliding down into the dark water that was below me unsure of how to get to the other side.

"Watch out!" someone yelled as I looked just in time to see the mouth opened of the creature and it's teeth come crashing down.
