Epilogue: Just the Beginning

Caleb and I were on the back of Stygian as we flew over towards where the vortex was. After knowing what used to be there, I wasn't as scared anymore. There was no Kragon coming to kill us, or Bones. We were simply just doing everyone a favor and disposing of what my dad once created.

Caleb held me tighter as we got closer to the spot. "So where do you want to go after we do this?"

I thought for awhile. "Maybe I can go back to Australia and see my friends? Just to tell them I'm okay?"

He kissed my cheek. "Why not. We can stay for awhile and tell them what happened, even if they don't believe us."

I giggled and tried to imagine seeing Raegan, Jose and Mason again. They would be super thrilled to have me back. Specially Mason, who I had missed dearly during this entire past two years of being gone.

'Here we are Princess,' Stygian thought to me as he hovered over the water.

I looked back to see Caleb's new ship sailing with us. Zenith had decided to come with us and experience what it was like to see the world. Skye had taken an immediate liking to that and was constantly talking to him about stuff. I was happy for her though.

Looking back down into the water, I said a small prayer to my dad about how sorry I was and held the Rings out slowly. One by one they dropped into the water with a small flash of light. I looked at the Ring of Shadows and realized had I never found it, I never would've met Caleb.

Caleb seemed to have read my mind and kissed the back of my neck, "You can let it go Alanna, I'll always be with you, with or without the Ring."

"I know," I smiled and let it fall out of my hand.

Stygian began forming many spells and enchantments around the area to make sure it was never to be found again. Though I'm pretty sure someone would uncover it on accident like me, but as long as it wasn't during my lifetime, I didn't care.

He pushed away from the water and dropped the two of us back onto the ship.

'I shall see you later Princess. If you are ever in trouble, I shall come.'

"Thank you," I said and kissed his scaly nose.

He hummed gently and pushed off into the clouds where we all lost sight of him.

"Where too Captain?" Jewel said standing at the wheel with the wind blowing her hair back.

"Australia. Let us begin sail!" he called out as his crew began to ready the ship for it's next course.

"What are you going to call this one?" I asked him as we walked up to the steering wheel.

"I figured whenever we had a little one on the way I would name it after them," he said blushing a deep red.

I looked down and tried to imagine having a kid with the life I was living in. Would it be possible?

"Sounds perfect," I said kissing him gently and watching us sail past the vortex.

We gazed into the water and I noticed the slight gleam from the Ring as it began to sink further and further into the depths of the ocean. I think it was safe to say that the Ring of Shadows was officially no more.

**Tada! I'm so happy to have this one done with! :) Sorry if it didn't end like you wanted it too. I wasn't sure where I had been heading with it for awhile now. But I couldn't be happier with the results. Might go back and add later if I feel the need too.. but that probably won't happen. Thank you guys so much for reading my Pirate series! It was my first one to do and I was pretty excited to begin it! Maybe if I do another one I'll have a better idea. :) **
