Jongin noticed things about his umma, like how Jong Dae stopped scribing notes here and there, or how much he kept asking Jongin if he will come back home after class. "Yes, umma. I will come straight home." Jongin frowned as Jong Dae nodded and smiled to him.
"Ok. Have a nice day. Behave, ok?" Jongin nodded and left with a deeper frown. It became annoying with time and he didn't know to whom he has to go. He spent the morning period not talking until Kyungsoo showed up at his classroom.
"Hi, Jongin." Kyungsoo's bright smile made Jongin smile but he was still looking sad. "Are you ok?"
"I am." Jongin forced a smile as he and Kyungsoo headed to the canteen. "But Umma seems sad, and restless." He sighed. "Do you think it's because I ran away from home?"
"No. I don't think so." Kyungsoo answered right away. "I am sure that your parents didn't resolve the fight and they are worried it hurts you. Just give him time." Kyungsoo was so close to the truth because Chanyeol felt annoyed and hurt whenever he finds Jong Dae zoning or tossing the pens he deliberately leaves behind in the trash bin. He knew he screwed it.
Meanwhile, Jong Dae was dying. He felt it inside that something died inside him every time Chanyeol and Jongin left the house. He stays at home, cleaning over and over, crying nonetheless. He did it so many time that it became a routine. By the time Jongin come back from school, Jong Dae would be sized by a headache from much crying but he would had freshened and cooked for his son, observing him eat, and being himself. "Umma... I know that I did wrong." Jongin said suddenly. "I left and I scared you." Jong Dae blinked in shock. "but I didn't plan to leave you. I just wanted Appa to comeback. I wouldn't leave you even if they drag me out of this house." Jongin offered a sincere smile. "I don't know someone who can love me more than you do."
Jong Dae wanted to say something but he couldn't as Jongin rushed to hug him tight and he cried. His son was kissing his head and saying that it was ok, that it wasn't his fault, and he kept crying, holding on Jongin.
"Umma loves you so much, so much." Jong Dae cried. "I don't want you to leave me."
"I won't." Jongin said with a smile. "Even if you stop loving me, someday, Umma, I'll never leave you." Jong Dae shook his head and hugged Jongin tight. "I love you mommy."
"I love you more." Jong Dae mumbled as he relaxed slowly, while Jongin kept patting on his head. "Let's finish so that Mommy will make daddy a nice dinner."
"Will daddy give you a massage?" Jongin asked him suddenly and Jong Dae blushed. "I hear you groaning in pain at night, sometimes. Let him do you a massage mommy, I am sure you will feel better." Jong Dae went crimson and nodded, forcing a smile to his son. Jongin finished his food and drank his jus before rushing to the bath. "I'll do my homework!"
Jong Dae blinked at the kid's cuteness and shed more tears, smiling by himself. He prepared the food for Chanyeol and stood by the door, looking by the window, until Chanyeol will show up. The man didn't make time to park the car and Jong Dae was surprised by the second bag Chanyeol held. Jong Dae opened the door and welcomed Chanyeol with open arms.
Chanyeol moaned as he hugged Jong Dae back. "It feels good to be in your arms." Chanyeol's tone was filled with tiredness and it made Jong Dae worried.
"Go shower. I made dinner." Chanyeol smiled and nodded before heading to the bedroom. Jong Dae made Chanyeol a relaxing tea, and waited for him by the dining table until he showed up, wearing light. "How was today at work? Tiring?" Chanyeol nodded and sat tiredly. "Ow. You look so tired." Jong Dae stood to give Chanyeol a short hug. "Eat and let's go sleep. Ok?"
"I'm ok." Chanyeol said, smiling to Jong Dae who he pulled closer. "It's just a project that is stressing everybody at the company lately; it's something really big but if it fails, it will take us down with it."
Jong Dae paled, it was huge pressure. "Oh god, yeollie. I can guess it's really stressful." He stood to hug Chanyeol again. "I trust you, Chanyeol. Do your best, and everything will be all right."
Chanyeol didn't move, he looked ahead and Jong Dae gave him a worried look. They didn't say a word, as Jong Dae served him dinner and ate while observing him. Chanyeol ignored him, as he felt his worries affecting Dae and he didn't want to worry the man. As they finished, Jong Dae stood to escort Chanyeol to the bedroom, and tucked him in bed. "Sleep well, my baby Yeollie. You will just have to sleep and everything will be better with a clearer mind."
Chanyeol pulled him and kissed him. "Thank you for being so loving." It made Jong Dae relaxes and smiles, leaning to kiss Chanyeol.
"I'll just clean the table and hurry up to your side. Ok?" Chanyeol nodded and smiled to Jong Dae who rushed to clean the kitchen. When Jong Dae came back, Chanyeol was deeply sleeping and he knelt in the bed, looking at Chanyeol, softly caressing his hair. "I hate to think that I perhaps didn't welcome you in open arms when you needed me before." Chanyeol caught that as he woke up as soon as Jong Dae touched him, but tiredness overcame and he slept back. Jong Dae couldn't sleep the whole night, and sat there observing Chanyeol under the soft light coming from the open window just behind him. Chanyeol seemed peaceful and he was happy to see that.
In the morning, Chanyeol woke up on the sight of Jong Dae smiling, in his sleep, while kneeling in front of him. It made him smile, touched, and he caressed the man's cheek making Jong Dae wake up. "Oh. I slept." Jong Dae stated the obvious and stood up. "I'll make you breakfast." Before he could even move, Chanyeol held Jong Dae's hand and pulled him closer. "Chanyeollie..." He whined before chuckling with his husband. "Did you sleep well?"
"I've never felt any better." Jong Dae caressed his face and smiled in relieve. "Let's both make breakfast." Jong Dae was about to protest. "I've missed that." Chanyeol stopped him in track and he smiled again, nodding. They headed to the bathroom, both washed their faces, their teeth, and Chanyeol wore his clothes while Jong Dae woke his son up. He freshened the kid up, and met up with Chanyeol in the bedroom before they headed quietly to the kitchen.
"Daddy." Jongin called suddenly. "You know, today, I'm going to dance in front of my school." They both widened their eyes in shock since none of them thought of it. "I hope you will make it."
"I'll do anything to be there on time, Jonginnie. Don't worry." Chanyeol promised but as he looked up, Jong Dae noticed his distress. Knowing that Chanyeol had a very sensitive job to do, Jong Dae smiled assuredly.
It made Chanyeol beam, a wave of energy crushing his tiredness away as he held on Jong Dae's supportive expression the whole day. By the play's time, Chanyeol managed to be in, tired but glad, as he sank next to Jong Dae who subtly held his hand. "You made it."
"I did." Chanyeol smiled and looked ahead. The both men looked right when Jongin's happiness glowed the whole theater.
"This is for my family, who love me a lot!" Jongin said before introducing himself. Soon enough, he danced on a girl group, Chanyeol's favorite, and the man stood up dancing with his son, a wide smile in his lips. Meanwhile, Jong Dae observed the people he loved the most, being happy and cheerful, and it crossed his mind that he won't be able to see such happiness without Chanyeol, and shed tears, as he laughed at Chanyeol's silly dancing.
"You are such a lucky man." A woman spoke by his side and he looked at her. "to get your husband leave the job early in order to be with his son is a failed mission for most of the women here."
Jong Dae looked up to Chanyeol applauding Jongin. "I'm lucky indeed." he smiled to Chanyeol as the man looked at him for a moment, with red cheeks. As he stood to applaud his son, Jong Dae just hope his luck won't run out.
