Steam steamed in its steamy steaminess, all the steaminess of steampunk. Too much steam in that description, I thought I would set the mood straight away though.

In the centre of the city, one of Georgianesque towers, classical columns, arches and ancient Hoo ruins a portal opened. A glowing, shimmering, circle of light. A king of the Britons and his faithful dwarf sidekick appeared.

“Where are we?” Arthur queried as he looked at his Interdimensional Wrist Transporter.

“I think we have crossed over into one of the other books by the Author.”

“O how dreary, which one? It had better not be The 24, that’s too violent.”

“No, The Sun Thief.”

“Pah, how can anyone steal the sun?”

“Well, if we have really crossed over into that book then I’m sure we’ll find out.”

“So what do we do here then?”

“Anything we like, I suppose, so long as we don’t cross over with that story line.”

“So where are we then?”

“1882.”

“Where not when.”

“Southern Andacia.”

“And where’s that when it’s at home?”

“The North of France, a bit of Germany and a bit of Spain.”

“Right, so which bit are we in France, Spain or Germany?”

“I don’t know, we need a map.” Sid looked around for his bearings.

“Have you lost your bearings again Sid? You know what happens when you lose your bearings.”

“I know, by the way is this going to be a full book or is it going to be a short?”
