It was 3AM and Yoongi was wide awake. The boy laying next to him in bed cried and shrieked, shaking uncontrollably as his tears rolled down his plump cheeks. Yoongi was desperately trying to calm him down, repeating his name over and over again soothingly.

Jimin was having a panic attack.

Yoongi had accompanied his younger friend to every single therapy session he had ever had, and Jimin appreciated his hyung's support. It was one of the few but many things the fans did not know about "Jamless Chim Chim" and the band wanted it to maintain that way. Of course, who can foretell when a panic attack would occur? Nobody, which is precisely why management, the manager, the other members of Jimin's bands and Jimin were always on their toes, worried about a sudden outburst.

Jimin's chest tightened. "Y-yoongi-hy-hyung!"

Yoongi's heart wrenched at Jimin's pitiful cry. He could only do so much. With a thumping heart, he slid off the bed and ran to Jin's room. Disregarding the closed door, he swung it open and darted over to the sleeping boy-no, boys. He shook Jin and Namjoon violently, hissing, "Wake the fuck up, Jimin's crying and I don't know what to do."

In a moment the entire band was crowding around Jimin's bed, Jin trying to calm Jimin down while Jungkook called the manager. Yoongi was visibly shaken as he sat next to Jimin, clutching his hand and whispering sweet nothings. And the boy kept gasping for breath and trembling and crying. He curled into a ball and buried himself into Yoongi's chest, tears soaking his shirt in a matter of seconds.

The manager arrived with the paramedics close behind him. Jungkook was sobbing quietly on Taehyung's shoulder while the older boy stroked his head and held him close. And Jimin kept shaking and gasping for breath and clutching Yoongi's shirt. With a quick assessment, the hospital crew gently pulled Jimin from Yoongi and lifted him into the ambulance. Only one person was allowed inside, and the entire band volunteered Yoongi, just because "Jimin would like that."

Yoongi had never like hospitals. His mother died during childbirth in a hospital. His father died of a stroke in a hospital. His grandfather died in his sleep in a hospital. Millions of people die in hospitals even if they are supposedly getting better. Hospitals are where you go to die, not live. Yoongi hated himself for allowing the manager to call 119. Jimin would die for sure.

He was sent to the waiting room, where he sat with his hands in his face. It was a girl's job to cry, but here he was sobbing because his dear best friend was halfway to heaven. Yoongi wasn't religious, but he wished that Jimin would go to a nice place after he died. A place full of happiness and bubble tea and sunshine and music. He wished that because Jimin had never done anything wring in his life. He was simply perfect.

Yoongi hated to think that Jimin might got to a horrible place just because he confessed to Yoongi, saying that "I might like you, hyung," which melted Yoongi's hear when he heard it. Just because he did have sex with Yoongi after their MAMA concert because Jimin was so happy and Yoongi was happy that Jimin was happy. Just because he swore whenever Yoongi teased him with equally foul words and soft kisses. Yoongi was mad because, how would anyone hate Jimin just because he did those things? He loved people, and people loved him, and sometimes that made Yoongi brighten up himself because he knew that attitude was everything, no excuses.

He sat on the annoying plastic chair, crying. Thinking. Hoping. Longing. Nothing could fill the void in his heart if Jimin died.

"Hey, hyung..." A whisper came from his left. He turned slowly and there was Jungkook. The younger boy's eyes were red and puffy and his cheeks were covered in tear stains. No words were needed to explain when Yoongi pulled Jungkook into a hug so big and tight and warm. They cried together, knowing the other's misery. Jungkook sniffed and buried his head into this hyung's neck. "Why, hyung? Why did it happen to Jimin? He was such a good person."

And Yoongi could only reply, "Because God's selfish."

Jungkook was religious. He believe that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people, and he used the phrase "serves you right" because to him, it only made sense. But when bad things happen to good people, Jungkook didn't understand and it made him sad and angry all at the same time. He wanted Jimin to go to heaven, but what of his numerous "sins"? Sex with another male didn't make Jimin a bad person. He loved Yoongi, and that's what mattered. He didn't have sex for money. He didn't it because he loved Yoongi. And Yoongi loved Jimin.

Jimin passed away two days after his admission to the hospital. Yoongi never left his room after he went home. Jungkook cut himself and passed out on the bathroom floor. Taehyung overdosed on drugs, but he survived, just barely. Namjoon and Hoseok didn't compose any more raps for a month. Jin sank into depression. Yoongi didn't eat or drink or speak to anyone. He only dreamed. And went through his photo gallery on his phone and cried at every single picture that was of him and Jimin.

The funeral was on a Sunday. Yoongi only emerged when he heard Jungkook's voice, croaky from all the tears, telling him that the van was leaving. Yoongi only wore black. Except for his hair, which he died orange. The boys knew why but didn't say anything.

Jungkook made a speech, his voice wavering and trembling as he clutched onto the back of the seat in front of him.

"Jimin was a great guy and I loved him very much. He never did anything had to anyone. He was always thinking about others, especially the hyungs. I'll miss his silly smile and goofy laugh and his enthusiasm and the way that he called me Junggoof when I made mistakes and the way he called Namjoon-hyung a wizard because he could brake anything. And the way he called Jin eomma because he would spoil us and make us our favourite food and would make us cake when we did well at performances. And the way he would tease Taehyung and call him a pabo because he broke the toilet and would do silly things. And the way he'd call Hobie-hyung a pervert because he'd slap his butt all the time. And just because he loved us. He didn't deserve this. No one does, even if they're bad. But Jimin was good and so that makes me mad."

Tears were flowing down Jungkook's face freely now, and Taehyung rubbed the younger boy's back gently.

"I-I love you so much, J-jimin-hyung."

The pastor could say nothing. Yoongi found himself crying again. There wasn't a dry eye in the entire church. Not even the families of the boys could contain their tears.

And so it was that BTS, the charismatic band of boys who caputed girls' hearts slowly sank into the ground at the loss of one member. They still performed and still won awards but there was something missing. Two months after the loss, the boys were devastated to find Yoongi's body in the bathroom. In the bath. He wasn't breathing.
