Cedric Diggory's Little Sister

Chapter 5

*****Rosalyn's POV*****

***5 months later***

I walk with Joey past Knockturn Alley when someone slams into me. I'm caught quickly by Joey and I see it was Harry. "Harry! What were you doing in there?!" I say, brushing dirt off of him. "I flooed wrong and came out there." He explains. I nod and quickly fix his glasses. I pull him toward the book shop I saw the Weasleys enter a moment ago.

I spot Cedric and Mom near the front of the line and place a kiss on Harry's cheek. "See you later Harry." I smile and pull Joe away to our family. I feel my gloves get wet and nudge Joey as I see water around my hands. "Bloody hell." He hisses and shoves my hands into my jacket pockets. Finally we reach Cedric and he pulls out a new pair of gloves. We quickly get them on my hands and toss the other ones in the bin. I smile up at my brother and hug him.

"DAD!" I yell as I see him inside the house holding a box of stuff. He gives me a smile and adjusts the box. "I got you each something from my trip." He states, placing the box down. I run to him and give him a hug. "I missed you!" I cry. He hugs me closer. After a few minutes I calm down and sit by his feet. Cedric and Joey quickly join us. "For Joseph we have got a supply of chocolate frogs, for Cedric a new Nimbus 2001, for Rosalyn we have got a new kitten to join Cassia who I heard is lonely and a diary from cousin Malfoy that I ran into, and for my Mrs we have got an egg that should hatch soon." He says passing things out. I look at the kitten in my hands and run with it up toy room where Cassia is.

***3 days later***

I hear Mom scream in horror and fall out of bed. I look up to see vines covering my room and quickly bring them back. I slip my gloves on and run quickly toward the source of her scream. I sigh in relief once I see it was only Hercules running around. I quickly lift him up and walk upstairs.

I run through the crowds of people with Joey and Ced while Mom and Dad follow with our stuff. I slip through the barrier and wait for the others. We load our things on and I run onto the train to find Mione after saying goodbye to my parents.

I watch as Ron and Harry walk over to Hermione by the Grand Staircase as I'm taken to the Common Room.

I stand by my fellow Hufflepuffs as the Gryffindors rush in. I smile at Joey as he waves at me. Madame Sprout walks in and begins telling us what we have to do. I put my earmuffs on and pull out the Mandrake from it's pot. "Wonderfully done Ms Diggory! 10 points to Hufflepuff!" I hear Sprout call. I quickly move the plant to a new pot and put in all the things to help it grow.

I step out of the Herbology class and begin my walk to the Potions class room, with my books held close to me. I walk past a group of Slytherins and begin laughing at me. "Hey Nerdiggory! Get your work down on time you freak?!" Their group leader yells at me. I quickly look down and walk away quickly. I hear the sound of skin on skin contact and turn to see Cedric standing over the group's leader who bleeding heavily from his nose. Cedric turns toward me and runs over. "Are you okay?" He rushes. I nod and he places a hand on my shoulder. I look into his grey eyes and he hugs me close. "Wait outside of Potions and either Joe or I will collect you." He orders. "Okay." I say and he let's me go. I move quickly after the pack of Hufflepuff second years.

I step out of the classroom to see Joey standing there awkwardly as my classmates stare at him. I walk to his side quickly and tap his shoulder. He looks at me and smiles. "Lunchtime. You're sitting with me." He says. I nod and we head off.

I lean against me arms when someone sits beside me. "Hey Rosalyn. Are you feeling okay? You look a bit pale." I hear Harry ask. I lift my head and nod. I see Joe signal for someone to come over and I place my head down. I feel Joe and someone else quickly pull me out of my seat and out of the Great Hall.

I'm placed on a bed and I see Madame Pomfrey walk over. "Are you feeling okay, Rosalyn? You're looking very pale." Pomfrey asks. "I'm fine. I feel like I always do." I state. She sighs and checks me over. "Well, you're not 'fine' you have a high temperature so I'll have to keep you in here." She states. I groan and adjust my gloves over the vines wrapping around my hands. I lay down and sling my arms over the sides of the bed. "We'll leave you to rest, Rosalyn. You boys head off to class." Pomfrey says. Cedric sends me a knowing look and they all walk away. I close my eyes and feel the vines take off at a fast rate around my hands.

*****Joseph's POV*****

I step out of the Transfiguration class room with Harry, Ron and Hermione when I walk into something and fall backwards. I look up to see vines growing around the door. My eyes widen in horror as McGonagall runs forward, pointing her wand at them. "Wait! Don't touch the vines!" I yell,standing up quickly. Everyone looks at me in shock and confusion. "I know how to get rid of them. Just give me some time to get to the source." I say. McGonagall sighs but nods in agreement. "You have an hour until I burn them." She states. I nod and begin to climb through the vines.

I reach the hospital wing quickly and see Rosalyn sleeping soundly, vines beginning to wrap around her. I run to her side as someone else bursts into the room. I turn to see Cedric holding a knives in his hand. "We have to cut them." He calls moving to my side quickly. I nod and take a knife from him. We quickly begin cutting the vines a couple of metres away from Rosalyn's skin. The vines fall to the floor and I hear a loud thump ring out. I pull vines away from Rosa's body and she shoots up in confusion. "What happened?" She asks as Cedric picks her gloves off the ground. "Your gloves fell off while you were sleeping and vines spread throughout the castle." I explain as Cedric puts the gloves on her hands. I pull her into a hug and hold her close.
