Commitment to the Cause

I was multi-tasking like a mug this morning. I was face-timing Keri from my laptop and texting S'ven from my phone all while trying to iron my pants.

"You don't even need to iron those stiff ass pants." Keri yelled through the screen.

"They only stiff because they new. Don't you need to get ready for work too?"

"Not yet, my baby bringing me breakfast."

"My baby can't do that because we gotta be at work in an hour."

"I need to meet S'ven." She said sternly.

"You can meet him today for lunch. Ricky already asked too."

"Oh shit, we gonna scare the boy away."

"Betta not, I'll beat both of y'all asses if you do." My phone started to buzz on the iron board.

"There goes bae!" I rolled my eyes. "Tell him I said hey." I started to put my pants on struggling to pull them over my ass.

"Damn man." I said as I continued to struggle.

"Having a big booty can be a blessing and curse." She started laughing.

"Something you don't have to worry about."

"Ugh, bye bitch see you at lunch."

"Byeee." I ended the facetime call and answered S'ven's text.

7: Good morning, I got a surprise for you when you come to work.

Me: Wonder what that is?

7: You'll see

What is this boy up to? We haven't been together for 12 hours and he already got a surprise for me. He don't even have to come to work until 10. I was kind of rushing now since I struggled putting my pants on. Can't lie they made my ass look bigger, but like Keri said it's a blessing and curse.

"Should I eat some real food or just grab this lil' ass granola bar?" I asked myself.

"Probably should eat." Javion said from behind me.

"Nigga...don't do that!"

"Sorry, isn't it almost 8:30?"

"Yes it is, and I'm hungry but I need to go. Fuck it." I said grabbing the granola bar. "What time you getting off for this little date thing?" I said with the granola bar in my mouth.

"Thought you forgot." He mumbled but loud enough for me to hear it

"I didn't forget. I'll be here by 7." He had a blank look on his face. "Have you seen my keys?"

"By the TV."

"I swear I just looked right here, anyway see you later." I said rushing out the door. At the rate that I'm going, I'll get to work at exactly 8:30

8:29 a.m

Right on time! I clocked in one minute before 8:30 and I was tired. It seemed like traffic, and people were just trying to make me late today.

"Finally made it." S'ven said hugging me. I looked up at him and smiled. "Oh my bad, no PDA at work."

"I never said that."

"It's code." Shawn said walking up to me. "Y'all cute though."

"Thank you honey."

"Oh, and your surprise is in the break room." Shawn said grinning at S'ven.

"Thanks for keeping it a secret Shawn."

"What, you told me to keep a look out, you didn't say I couldn't tell her. Have fun you two!"
