Nightmares

I woke up to my alarm again. Same schedule, same zombfish in the morning, same place I met up with my friends.

"Damn you two look dead" Sam told me and Max. "What happened?"

We looked at eachother and said "Nightmares" at the same time.

The boys eyed us like they didn't believe us even though it was true. My dream started out normal with me swimming but then things went wrong.

The sun was shining overhead and I was swimming the surface, which isn't something I normally did. The warm water was calm and I could see a ship in the distance. But I didn't move, thinking I would be fine and just floated on my back, soaking up the warm sun. Suddenly I felt a shadow over me, blocking the light and then I heard yells. Before I knew what was happening I felt a net tangle around me. As I was pulled onto the ship I struggled, cutting my arms and tail. The net was thrown on board and then I saw soulless black eyes stare down at me. It was a man with red hair and pale skin. His hat indicated he was a captain. A bunch of other men surrounded me looking with part loathing, curiosity, and lust. I cringed and the the captain spoke.

"Throw this filthy thing under," he growled.

"Aye aye Captain Jones." One of the men replied.

I was roughly pulled up and my tail started to fade into legs since I had been taken out of the water.

"Get her some clothes while your at it Smee." Captain Jones said.

I was given some human pants and shirt and was chained up in a cage. I started crying and wailing. As I screamed my hands got warm. Electricity poured out of my hands, melting my chains and blowing the cage door off. I let out a roar and then heard an alarm. Then I woke up.

The dream had scared me because I think that's what would have happened to me and Max if my powers hadn't showed up. We slowly swam to school and the entire time, Max kept nervously looking around while Finn looked at her worriedly.

"You guys sure you're okay? You've been acting really weird." Jack asked.

"We are fine," I snapped.

"Ok ok. No need to get so snappy."

The boys went to their separate classes and Max and I talked. We told each other about our nightmares. Hers was a lot like mine and was about getting kidnapped by humans.

"Do you think we'll ever get over this?" I asked her.

"It just happened. Give it time. I'm sure it'll get better. In the mean time lets try to forget. And you learn about your powers so you can defend us next time." She replied.

"Ya. I tried to do it but it didn't work yet."

After that we just went to our classes. The entire day was long and seemed endless. And after school, I actually made it home without getting kidnapped.
