Control

The resting the week went without a hitch. Just the endless circle of chats with friends, classes, and homework. When it finally became the weekend, Max and I planned a sleepover at her house since her parents are never home so we could talk. I ran over the second I got everything packed after school.

"Soooo.....anything new happen?" Max asked.

"Nope. Just have been having the same nightmares."

"Me too. All I know is that the Great Whites have kidnapped a ton of folk yet none of the members have been caught."

"No one saved either?"

"Nope. "

"We were really lucky then."

"Yup. "

We sat next to each other, just thinking. The silence was comfortable.
Suddenly Max leaped up.

"Let's work on your powers! We're getting nowhere with the gang so let's work on something easier. You said your powers might be triggered by being in danger so I get to beat you up!"

I laughed, "sure lets do this thing."

She picked up a textbook and threw it at me. I just dodged it and glared. Then she picked up a sharp pen, a belt, and spikey earrings throwing each one by one.

"What?", she said innocently. "I honestly thought it would work. "

I rolled my eyes, "I'm sure you did. A book nor any of those thing aren't gonna kill me."

"Fine. Do you want me to shoot you? Poison you? What?"

"I don't know!! I don't know how any of this is supposed to work! This is as new to me as it is to you!" I exclaimed and threw my hands in the air.

Suddenly a burst of flame came out and I abruptly put my hands down.

"YOU DID IT!!" Max yelled.

I stared at my hands in amazement. Then I had an idea. I walked outside to make sure I wouldn't destroy anything. Then I tried to feel a strong emotion, since fear and frustration have triggered it so far, and thrust out my hands. Fire burst out just like the first time I used my powers. My excitement and fear grew and the fire turned into lightning like energy. Then finally a pure beam of silver energy burst out of my hand and hit a huge kelp tree 30ft away. The tree exploded instantly, turning into dust. I looked at my hands scared and shocked.

"You need to be extremely careful with that Caly. You could hurt someone really badly. " Max said, slowly backing away.

"I know. But you have to admit that was amazing. " I exclaimed.

Max smiled. "It was awesome af but be careful ok? I know you would rather hurt yourself than hurt anyone else and I would die if you got hurt."

"Awww I love you too Max. You're like the sister I never got." I said as I hugged her.

Suddenly I felt extremely tired, like all the energy was sucked out of me. I also felt hungry, like I hadn't eaten in days. The world around started to spin and my skin felt cold.

"I don......"

---------------------------------------------- ooo a cliffhanger! Ur welcome my lovely readers (even tho this was short). I've actually been updating which is amazing (thanks to a certain person who's comments have encouraged me. U know who u r:)) After this burst of tons of updates I'll have to slow down for a while cuz I'm gonna have a TON of important tests to take in school. So I'll try to maybe update everyday or every other day til then! Bye fishies (I'm gonna call u guys that unless u have a better idea:P) Xoxo Ana
