"Ari!" I say running to her. Ari had on an orange shirt with a yellow sunshine, yellow shorts and some orange tennis shoes. "Hey!" She smiled looking at me. "Have you gotten your classes?" I ask. Ari puts something in her open red locker. "Yeah...Wanna compare?" She asks looking at me. Her eyes sparkled.
"Sure!" I was still holding my schedule so I just put mine next to her. Most of our classes were together. Gym, English, and homeroom weren't together though. We smiled. "So...Are we-..f-friends?" I stuttered looking at her bright face.
She didn't answer. Instead she closed her locker and grabbed her book bag. Since her locker was the closet to the ground she had too stand to put her bag on her back. She still held her schedule then looked at me. "I guess you could say that.." She gave me a small white pierce of paper that was in her short pocket. "This is my number...if you ever want to call or text," she said. Another girl the same height of Ari came up. She had blonde hair that went to the middle of her back and had ocean blue eyes. She wore a seaweed green dress that went 1 inch above the knee. "Oh-...um..hi.." The girl studied me. She stared into my eyes for a bit.
"We need to go...oh and this is-..." Ari said looking at the other girl. The girl but her lip," My name is C-..Lily!" She smiled 'innocently'. I wasn't sure I believed that but why would she not tell me her name? "Yeah..bye!" Ari said. Both of the girls quickly walked around the corner to their home room. "Mysterious girls.." I mumble. I start to turn around bumping into someone. "Sorry!" I apologize quickly. Then I realize it's a boy. The boy had black hair and sky blue eyes. He had tanned skin and a black shirt to match his ripped jean pants. "Wow...your hot.." He said looking into my eyes. I felt myself blush. 'he's pretty hot himself..' I think.
I wouldn't call myself hot. I had my hair in a messy braid today and I had on a purple shirt that said 'I like Pie' and showed a cartoon cherry pie. I also had on some jean shorts that went just a few centimeters from my knee. "Uh...t-thanks..." I say blushing more.
"I'm Luke..." He says. "Jenna!" I tell him excitedly. We stare into each other's eye for a few seconds before he stops and says," We should get to- a class..." He says. He then starts walking away after saying," Bye" I smile and notice he is going into History. I follow since that was my Homeroom too.
This will be interesting.....After school I invite Ari and that 'Lily'. At my house we grab some cheese, and crackers and bring it too my room. "Sorry...I'm still unpacking.." I say as we entered the room. My room had a window in the center which was above my bed. My bed had a zig-zag pattern of like green, sun yellow, ocean blue, sea green, and orange over white. Next to it was a birch nightstand which had a reading lamp on it and my red alarm clock. I also had a walk in closet on the right. Some clothes were already hung and some still laid in the boxes which were in the corners of the room.
"Looks pretty nice..." Ari compliments. "Thanks!" I smile. I notice the book was laying closed on my bed. On the front in sea green it said," Mermaids Of The Deep" over an ocean blue format. I quickly slide it under my bed which had nothing under it yet. "What was that?" Lily demanded. She had a frown on her face and looked in the direction here I slid the book. "N-nothing..." I stutter. Ari stays quiet looking at the ground.
"Tell me...no harm..." Lily says looking at me. I sigh and take the book out. 'Thy wouldn't harm me, right? I mean we are friends now, aren't we?' I show her the book. "Where did you get that?" She asked surprised snatching it out of my hands. "I got it in a book store..." Lily said. Ari looked up and stared at the book with Lily. "Get rid of it!" Lily said heading it too Ari. Ari opens the book to the first page. "Ari!" Lily whines. "Why can't I have a harmless book?" I ask. "That isn't harmless! Trust me!" Lily said. Worry struck into her eyes and she looked like she could cry. "I will when I am done reading it," I say stubbornly getting it out of Ari's hands.
"'Till then you can hang around with me and the book..." I say flipping the pages to where I left off. I left off last night with a spell that 'actually works' I don't believe it 'truly works.' "All there is in there is kid spells! They don't even work and I'm sure of it.." "Don't say those words..." Lily warned. "Why? You think it works?!" I giggle at her childness. "Fine, I'll prove it is harmless!" I said. "NO!" Ari and Lily scream in unison. I read the ingredients from the book:
You will need:
Enough water to get in
A towel
Salt
CupI smirk and go grab those things leaving the cheese on my bed. Lily and Ari follow scared and unsure on what to do. After I get the ingredients I head outside on the beach. The sand was still warm and was full of footprints. The summer sun was still out and hot. I felt my skin begin to tan and burn.i could taste the salty air. I could hear the peaceful sound of the waves crashing on the shore. I made Ari hold the ingredients with Lily's help.
Once I get down to the cool water I set down the book and do everything the book told me to do.
Go into the water and say:
Here me! Here me! Mermaids of the deep!
Then you step out and dry your body. While dry you take a cup of the water and pour salt into it even if salt was already in it. Drink out of the cup
I started to drink out of the disgusting water. "Yuck!" I exclaim. "You can't do this!" Lily exclaims. A tear runs down her face. Ari hugs Lily and neither one dared to look at me. I ignore them and finish the 'working' spell.
Go back into the water and swim if you can. If you can't swim where you are add more water then sit their. Then say,"here! Here! Here me now! Mermaids of the deep blue sea. I have one wish. I want to see you and be one of you! I will be one when wet and human when dry! Please grant my wish! Here! Here! Here Me now! Mermaids of the deep blue sea! After the spell I grin stepping out of the water. My legs felt weak but other than that nothing happened. "See!" I say going back on shore. Lily, Ari, and the book was gone.
