Mermaids Have it All

Chapter 4

     I heard a spooky noise coming from my bathroom. Oh yeah! I have my own bathroom. It has only the colors green, white, and blue in it! I love it! It is on the left side of my room.
   Anyway I slowly go towards the weird noise. It sounded like a screeching sound, but kinda a gargling noise too. I walk into my bathroom and flip on the lights. The bright lights come on from my coral pink designed lantern in the middle of the room on the ceiling. I saw the floor was wet and had puddles of water everywhere. Then I hear my shower curtain open reveling my brother with a water gun. I jump since he scared me. Cool water gets on my skin and clothes. He laughs evilly. With a snort he walks out of my room since my mother called him. I sigh angrily. Then my legs began to tingle like they fell asleep, which kinda hurt. Then I fall to the ground unaware on what has just happened. "Ow!" I moan. I try to stand up but fall down again with my hands going everywhere. The floor was slippery I had to admit. I feel the cold hair touch my stomach as if my T-shirt wasn't covering it. I realize I was wearing an sea green bathing suit top. Confused I noticed I couldn't pull my 'legs' apart. I realize that I didn't have legs. Instead in their place there was a sea green fish tail, full of fish scales. Surprised as ever I cover my mouth and stare at myself slowly realizing I was a mermaid.
   "Oh my gosh.." I pace in my room. Slowly my legs formed back and I went into my room. I was now pacing, brainstorming on what to do. I then realize what. I grab my phone from my nightstand and call Ari. "Please pick up. Please pick up." I say nervously.
   Ari did answer," Hello?" She asked I to the phone. "Ari! It's Jenna! I-" "Please don't tell me you are a mermaid..." Ari said. I could tell that she was worried. I ignored that and instead answered,"Well....Yes I am! I need that book!" I tell her knowing she and her little friend stole it! She sighs then says," I threw it ini the ocean!" "WHAT?! THAT BOOK ISN'T MINE!" I yell. "Ssshh! Calm down! Quiet..It is Lily's grandmother! Ya know the one that works in the bookshop. The person you stole the book from-" "how did you?-" "She told me...Can I come over to talk to you in person?" Ari asked. "Yes!" I responded. Then the phone call ended. I sighed and set down my phone.
  "Bye!" Mom said hugging me as I came down the steps. Mom told me that she was leaving me alone in the house. Jack had a baseball practice today and Mom and Dad wanted some alone time... "Bye!" I wave to her. Then everybody left me. I ran to the back door and locked it. Then I waited for Ari. Soon enough the doorbell rang and I guess she lived near by. I open the door and she welcomed herself in.
   "Anyone else here?" She asked scanning the house. "No! Just me.." I respond ready for the answers too all my questions. "Alright! We might want to go sit down somewhere...this will be a long story!" Ari said. I nodded and we went to my living room.
   "Ready?" She asked me. We both sat on my white couch. I nodded excitedly,"I need answers!" I say pretty fast.

Here ya go! A cliff hanger! ;) Alright....one question I want answers of. Will this type of mermaid have powers? Or not?!
