Its Not Summer Anymore

Chapter 7

The food was amazing. We had shrimp and pasta. I told Cynthia thanks and she said any thing for you. I smiled at how sweet she was. I excused myself from the table because I really just wanted to go outside and see the stars.

I walked out and looked up. I gasped with surprise. I was looking at the Milky Way on a clear night. The mountains and the Milky Way were breathe taking. I looked around and saw thousands of lighting bugs. They were flashing like little lights everywhere. They were in the mountains and looked like white twinkling lights.

I walked around the house. Someone came up behind me. And turned around and saw Tyler I gave him a smile and then looked back up at the sky.

I was telling him story's about when I came down here when I was little I said,"We went to my Uncles wedding in New York for a week and had 2 days left. Me My Mom and my sister decided to come here. My dad didn't come to the wedding because he had work, I remember how sad he was.

We got here at 10 and everybody was waiting for us. The next day we went out and the boys got Pretty Girl for me from the field. I was 8 years old. We had no work clothes and I was here for 2 days ( I smiled at the memories) I rode Pretty Girl in the yard from 9am to 8pm for 2 days none stop. (Tyler and I laughed) I was so sunburned I couldn't even put my arms down. (I was laughing as I said) I keep telling my mom I could ride in the mountains but she said no. So I rode Pretty Girl for 2 days straight. We drove straight home 13hrs the next day.

Well anyway Pretty girl died a couple years ago along with her baby's and grandchildren. The horses ate some nightshade and died.

I was about to start another one when Tyler cut me off rudely. "Katelyn I'd love to hear about you story's later, but I have to ask you something." I looked at him annoyed and gestured for him to speak. He said nervously," Well your brothers seem to approve of me so I was wondering. Instead of waiting till we get back home if we could have sex here?"

*****Unknown POV**********

" I can't believe he hit her." Stephen said. " Yea nobody hurts are baby girl." Raymond says. " Why haven't you stopped her Julie." Everyone ask. My mom puts her hand up in defense " I tried she wouldn't listen so I let it go. But I never knew he was beating her." My mom looks around the table and says," Boys." Tyler Phares,Stephen,Adam,Dylan,Kyle, and Little Matt look up. My mom says," Teach him a lesson."

*****Next day*******

I wake up to the sun shining in my eyes. I smile at the sight of my bedroom in West Virginia.

You know that moment when you wake up and your head is clear and nothing is wrong then everything rushes back to you and you remember the day before. Well that is my favorite feeling every.

I smile and stretch my hands and then my smile fades I leave my hands above my head and sigh. I get up and walk over to my bag. Searching through it to find a pear of cheer shorts and pull them on. I look up and catch a glimpse of my face in the mirror. I look back up to see my face puffy and purple. I touch my fingers lightly to it a wince at the pain.

I go in my moms bag and take four Advil. I walk through the rooms to Tyler's. I look at him sleeping and remember what he asked me. I look down at the little ring and glance at the one behind it. I flash back to when me and Derrick were going to have sex. I was so ready. I look back at the other ring and think but why am I not with you.

I hear a sleepy voice say," Baby, is that you? What time is it?"

Tyler reaches over to the clock and turns it to face him. He moans and wines," 6am. Really? In the summer?" I smile at him and walk over to the bed. He lifts the blankets up so I can crawl under neath them.
