"Almost there," I say to Tyler struggling to get to the bathroom. With Derrick on my heels knowing he won't leave me alone with Tyler again. I finally get him there. And Let him down on the toilet. I grab a washcloth, as Derrick stands in the door way with his arms crossed watching Tyler's every movement. I put water on the wash cloth damping it. I wipe his face off carefully and his hands. Derrick looks away with his jaw clenched as I strip Tyler down and put him in the bathtub. I wash the blood off his very bruised body. He's half dead and only makes sounds when i go over the bruises. When all the bloods gone turning the water a light red I help him out of the tub and back up stairs, Derrick helps only because I would fall down the stairs from Tyler leaning on me. He ask me in a whisper to help him put some clothes on and I agree. With lots of convincing I get Derrick to wait out side the door.

I get Tyler into bed and say,"I love you Tyler, but you can't keep hurting me. I will pay for a ticket for you to get back home safely. But for us." I step away from him in case he decides to hurt me again. "But for us were over, Tyler." I walk out of the room and close the door behind me.

I lean against the door thinking about what I just did. "Maybe I was too harsh? What if I broke his heart? I think I loved him? I can't just leave him alone?." I turn the knob to go back in the room with Tyler. When Derrick walks into my bedroom. I turn around fast and let go of the doorknob. It PINGS,snapping back to its regular position. "Yea." I say trying to sound like I wasn't

doing anything bad.

Derrick opens his arms and i walk over to him. He pulls me close and kisses my hair. He mumbles in my hair,"We still have to finish that field." I nod my head and glance at the clock its 6pm but still daylight.

And as Eddie says,"Work don't stop till the sun goes down." I put on some clothes remembering that I was still in my bra and panties. I put on some old shorts and a cut off T-shirt. Derrick walks over and pokes my hip and says,"Well talk about that later."

We run down the stairs and outside. I run over to to the big field. And after Stephen and Daniel on the tractor raking the hay. I catch up to them and jump on.

I reckon they we talking about what happen earlier because of the scared look their giving me. "Hey, Guys Derrick turned off the tractor in the field behind the river. And well it was the one that has to be pulled to get started up again." I say yelling over the motor. It takes it bit for them to stop giving that stupid and look and Stephen finally says,"Find Tye and ask him to help you." I nod my head and jump off the moving tractor.

I run back over to Derrick and tell him what Stephen said. We hop on the four wheeler when I remember something. "Oh my god Derrick I forgot. How's your leg." He smiles a silly but sexy smile and says lifting up his pant leg showing a metal brace like Forest Gump ,"Doing pretty good I reckon. Doctors say I'm lucky to get to keep it." I look at him with a strange look and say,"I didn't know it was that bad." He looks at me with a ghost seeing expression and says quietly,"I was in a second car accident. When I was driving to your house in the Christmas time. It was on the news. My leg was on attached in two pieces." I smack him in the arm and yell," Why didn't you tell me that was...was...was the." "The whole reason we broke up. Yea I know I felt like I was holding you back. So I let you go. But now I see I should of never let you go." he says kissing my bruised cheek gently

I sit in shock for a little and then finally come out of the trance and go off down the road looking for Tyler Phares.

I find him by the swimming hole watching his brothers in the water. I tell him what's up and he helps right away.

After several tries we finally get the tractor started and finish mowing a little before sun set.

Derrick drives the tractor back to the house. And I sit next to him. He puts his hand on my leg catching my attention. I snap my head over to him and give him a cerise look. "You can't stay at home tonight." He says glancing at the road then at me and back to the road. I nod my head still unable to talk much from the shock of the day.

We drive down the gravel driveway and turn into the main driveway.

Derrick drives into the barn and turns off the tractor. I get up and jump off the tractor. Derrick follows behind me and grabs my hand pulling me to him. I bend my head down not looking him in the eyes.

He lifts my chin up to face him. I push my tears back. And Derrick says,"Katelyn don't shut me out. You are going to stay at my house tonight and we will send Tyler home in the

morning." I nod my head and say," He doesn't have money to pay for a plane ticket." I say quietly. " I'll take care of it." Derrick says kissing my cheek.

I grab the back of his neck and say,"Thank you." I pull his head to me and place my puffy bruised lips on his soft sweet ones. I kiss him lightly flashing back to him touching me in the field. He pulls me into his lips hard and I let a moan out to the pain but it slowly fades away. He pulls away and I wish he didn't. We walk back to the house together

"I didn't tell you thank you for before. In the field when..." He cuts me off and says with a smirk,"Your welcome. Your a natural and one of these days well do it in a bed."

I nod my head and flash a smile walking back to the house for dinner.
