Off-roading Part 2

Jai and I arrived at my apartment later that afternoon.

"So,Mike and his mate Ian are gonna meet us at the dunes, they've got aspecial treat for you, Charlie," Rob said he was packing the truck with a cooler and sheets. Dahlia and I decided to change and then pack riding clothes with us. I changed into some denim shorts, floral-embroidered camisole, brown gladiator sandals I shook my naturally curly free and fluffed it up, grab my shades and put them in my hair. I checked my appearance again. I grabbed my riding gear and walked out and saw everyone getting into the truck.

"Ladies first," Jai said as he helped Dahlia into the front seat of Robs truck and shut the door, I took a big step and tried to pull myself in, I really hated this truck. I frowned and tried again before I felt two hands on my hips and felt myself being lifted into the air and sat down on the seat. I turned and looked at Jai who just winked and smirked before he joined us on the other side. Rob rolled the windows down and started the stereo as we headed out for ouradventure.

"Alright everybody selfie" Dahlia yelled from the front seat as she held her phone outstretched

"Dahlia Jai may not want his picture took" I interjected before I felt his arm go around my shoulder and pulled close to him

"Nonsense"he replied as we all posed for the camera.

"Great,"she said as she began typing away.

We all laughed and took pictures and videos of our trip. We noticed several trucks and four-wheelers parked off in the distance, then I saw a crowd walking around and hugging. I immediately noticed Mike.Mike was my cousin who had moved out here for work before I graduated high school. I leaned out the window

"Hey,"I yelled as we pulled in and jumped out of the truck and straightinto his arms. I felt him chuckle.

"What'sup baby cuz?" he swung me around before setting me back down

"Not much, just ready for some off-roading," I said before I saw Jai walked up to us with a polite smile on his face but his eyes showed no emotion.

"Jai, meet my cousin Mike" I introduced then I noticed Jai's eyes warm up

"Hey man," he said chuckling and doing a manly handshake

"Nice to meet you Jai," he said smiling back

"So Charlie we have a bit of treat for you," Mike said as he walked to the buggy on his truck something big covered by a tarp.

"What is it?" I laughed excitedly, he pulled the tarp off and there it was, my old 4 wheeler from back home. My mouth gaped open.

"Fresh battery, full tank and a wench on the front," he said chuckling

"This is my baby" I ran to it and let my fingers caress the dings remembering each one.

"You rode this?" Jai walked up to me

"Oh honey, I drove this" I joked winking at him

"Charlie is rougher than she looks," Mike told him letting the gate down onthe truck, he grabbed the tired ramp and put one on each side, tossedme the key.
