Chapter 13

"So why did you pair me up with Julie again?" Claude glared at me over the top of the book.

"Because Sebastian told me he was going back to the manor and...." I began before Claude came over and put a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry. If I'd of known that's where he was going I would have lumped it with Julie" He smiled down at me.

"It's fine. We'll go back again one day" I shrugged.
"So what's going on with you and Julie?"

"Nothing" He glares

"Yeah whatever. You slept together and now there's something between the two of you. I can sense it" I smirk.

"We may have slept together but it's was purely physical. No emotional attachments" He stated.

"Oh yeah? Is that why you keep avoiding her? It's been a week since you found me again and I've known you long enough to know when your avoiding someone even in a week" I pry

"There is nothing going on I assure you."

"Yeah, yeah. Keep telling yourself that" I chuckled.

"Find anything in your books?" He asked.

"Nope. Which sucks!" I groaned slamming my head down on the table.

"I don't think I've found anything either. Just different versions of the same story, the sword is bad for demons, only humans can find it. Same old shit just different versions" He huffs.

"This is so frustrating!" I shout.
"I just wish I could get some bloody answers!"

"That's because your looking in the wrong books gorgeous" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me.

Turning round I saw a half ginger half black haired man. He had startling green eyes with black framed glasses. He wore an impeccable suit, but still look scruffy. He was currently leaning on a lawn mower. His face bore a flirtatious grin and a sparkle was present in his eyes.
Boy had I missed him.

"RONNIE!" I scream leaping onto him and we crashed to the floor.
He laughed as I crashed on top of him and I couldn't help but laugh along with him.

"It's good to see you to baby girl. Maybe you could stop crushing me" He smirked hugging me.

I squeezed him back.
"I missed you"

"I missed you too" He smiled before releasing me.
"Where have you been all this time? 100 years ago or so Will said you ran into him at the circus and well I tried looking for you but your weren't anywhere to be seen"

"Will? Oh yeah, I vaguely remember him. He called me scum and a half breed....i don't really like him much" I pout.

"He has that effect on people." He chuckles
"But seriously, where were you?" He says taking my wrists in his. Forcing me to look him square in the eye.

"I had questions I needed answering. Answers that could only be found in one place.." I started a tear forming.
"..I had to go home Ronnie. I had to go back"

He pulled me into his eyes and kissed my forehead.
"That must have been hard for you. I'm sorry" He whispers.

I was suddenly made aware of Claude's presence by him clearing him throat. In all that had happened I had forgot he was even here.

"Oh yeah" I say jumping out of Ronnies arms.
"Ronnie this is Claude. Claude this is Ronnie."

"Reaper"

"Demon"

"Half-breed" I say trying to dissolve the awkward tension that had settled.

"You said we had been looking in the wrong library? What did you mean by that?" Claude suddenly pointed out.

"Exactly what I said" Ronnie said glaring at Claude.

"When ____ suddenly disappeared once again I did some digging of my own. There I learnt of Eric, Sebastian and the mark those two share. Intrigued by it all I looked up it meaning. Spent hours searching but finally I found the information I needed regarding the curse you find yourself placed under and why it has happened" He proceeds to explain.

"Then why are you here today?" I ask confused at to where this is going.

"Because your searching for knowledge on the Holy Sword"

"The Holy Sword?"

"It's the reapers name for it. The sword that can only be wielded by human hands. The sword that now a demon, reaper and human have paired up to find"

"Wait?!? A reaper is helping to?" I exclaimed all this new information was becoming hard to take in.

"Yes. That why I'm here. I wish it was to catch up unfortunately it's not. I've been given a job to find out as much as I can about this and put a stop to it, by any mean necessary. You are those mean" He tells me.

"As long as I get to kill Eric at the end of all this I don't really care" I shrug.

"And the matter of being in the wrong library?" Claude asks

"Easy. You won't find anything you need here. You'll have to come with me to The Library. The library of Knowledge, the place where every bit of knowledge the reapers posses are kept. I'm sure there is a book in there that will tell us exactly what we need to know. I just can't be bothered to read through them all to find the stuff I need"

"So let me guess, you want us to do the reading while you relax" I smirk at him hands on hip.

"Yes and No. I want you to do the reading while I take this absolutely gorgeous girl on a date" He winks

"That the Ronnie I know. But sure, we'll need to pick up a few people first though" I say a smile spreading across my face.

I was one step closer to ending Eric and getting my happily ever after. And nothing can stop me now.
