Chapter 22

For the first time in weeks I woke with a smile on my face.

The sunlight pierced through the window but it wasn't harsh. Instead it just illuminated the face laying beside me.
The face of my own personal fallen angel.

"Claude?" I whispered testing wether he was asleep still.

"Julie" I heard him whisper back. His eyes never opened but his lips curled into a small smile.

"Morning" I chuckle leaning forward to peck his nose with my lips.

He just pushes me off him and before I know it he's crouched over the top of me staring down at my grinning face.
"Don't do that" He smiles.

"Do what?" I smile sticking my tongue out.

"Kiss my nose. If your going to kiss me, do it properly" He smiles.

"What like this?" I smirk before leaning up to capture his lips with mine.

I felt him smile into the kiss as my hands came up to wrap around his neck. It was so wrong for me to love him but I did.

I giggled as his kisses trailed round to my neck and ear.
"Claude stop. Sebastian would walk in any moment"

"That didn't stop you last night" Claude teased as his lips went back to nibble my neck.

I tried to lose myself in the feel of his lips on my neck. But I couldn't.
Sebastian never came home last night. What happened to him?

"Claude stop" I say gently pushing him away from me.

"What's wrong?" He asks sitting up opposite me.

"It's Sebastian. He didn't come back last night. Didn't even come check on me if I was safe, that's not like him at all" I say my worry growing with each passing second.

"I'm sure he's fine. (Y/n) and him probably made up after the fight and now there together. He probably did the same thing as us last night and that's why he hasn't called" He said trying to comfort me. Instead it just made it worse.

"No! That's not like Sebastian at all" I say jumping from the bed.

I walked over to my drawers and began pulling out underwear and trousers.
"I need to know if he's okay. Please Claude" I beg him hoisting up my jeans.

I watched as he rolled his eyes and grumbled about Sebastian always getting in the way of things.
"Fine. I'll go back to the reapers place and you check his apartment. I'm sure they would much rather you walking in on them than me"

I ran over to give him a hug.
"Thanks Claude"

"Yeah your welcome" He shrugged back.

Despite his half hearted attitude I knew he wouldn't let me down. I could just sense it.

I finished getting dressed and watched as Claude did the same. Pulling my hair up in the messiest ponytail in the world, I grabbed my shoes and car keys from by the door.

"I'll ring you if I find anything" He says planting a brief kiss on my forehead.

"Claude? Be careful please" I say before I watch him run off.
