“Hey.” I mumbled into Chase’s chest as the sun began to shine through my French doors.

“Hey, sleepy.” He murmured back, running his fingers along my spine.

“Am not sleepy,” I growled, “What is the time?”

“Like, past 11am.” Chase answered; I could hear the grin in his voice without having to look at him.

“11? Fuck, dad is going to be home soon!” I said, suddenly stressed.

“Nah, he called earlier. He is taking coach to some rodeo further down the island, to show him a good Kiwi bull or something.”

“Oh, cool. When will he be back?” I asked, breathing a sigh of relief.

“Not for a few more days, they must be enjoying each other’s company huh?” Chase asked, still running his fingers along my back.

“Or they are trying to prolong having to see us kids.” I chuckled quietly.

“That is probably the better answer.” Chase laughed along with me.

“We should still get up; there must be heaps to clean up from last night?” I yawned.

“Nah, the boys did it this morning.”

“They did? Why?” I looked up at Chase, “Chase…” I narrowed my eyes, “There was no force involved, was there?”

“No… None at all…” He looked sideways.

“You are looking to the right! That means you are lying!” I growled.

“Bull shit, would I lie to you, no! I wouldn’t!” He said in an I-know-you-know-I-am-lying tone.

“Whatever, silly Boot’s.” I pushed him lightly.

“You are the silly one,” I could hear the smile in his voice again. I snorted softly, “Did you sleep alright the rest of the night?”

“Yeah, I guess.” I shrugged the dream off.

“Don’t just shrug it off Maggie.” Chase said, sounding slightly angry.

“How do you know me so well?” I grumbled.

“You are so easy to read, your emotions are just there and it’s kind of hard to not notice them.”

“Well, I’m not sure if that is good or bad to be honest.” I sighed dramatically.

“It’s good, I promise. With most girls it is so hard to understand what they are thinking, like so hard.” Chase said, taking a piece of my hair in his fingers.

“Boys are worse. But I am pretty sure all they think about it sex, food and alcohol. Most of them anyway.” I added the last bit quickly, hoping Chase wouldn’t think that was what I thought about him.

“Really, that’s all?” Chase laughed, “I think about more than that.”

“Oh really? What would that be?” I ran my hand around the fading bruise on his toned stomach.

“You. A lot. You are on my mind all the time! I can’t stop thinking about you Maggie. It’s fucking crazy!” He said quietly.

“All the time? That is a lot of thinking about me!” I teased.
