Sorry about the wait guys, I haven't been in the writing mood for.. uh, a while.
Thanks for sticking with me (:
After dinner, desert and a few drinks Chase and I finally decided to head home.
“What’s happening in the next few days?” Chase asked as we began the drive.
“I have to organise to meet my kids in the next few days, before the rodeo on Saturday. I haven’t done anything with them since Jake. You guys should start practicing down at the grounds too, your guys’ first New Zealand rodeo too.”
“Yeah, I suppose. The boys have been anyway.” Chase shrugged.
“But they’ll be missing their captain!” I laughed.
“They are happy to get rid of him!” He chuckled, “They reckon he works them and their horses too hard.”
“Oh those poor ponies! I am defiantly going to need to call the SPCA.” I joked.
“The owner’s daughter, not much better than the captain!”
“Oh, I hear she is much better!” I grinned from ear to ear, “Better looking too!”
“You’re so modest Maggie…” I made out the outline of him shaking his head; I could imagine the grin on his face and smiled too.
“Oh, all the time Chase. All the time!”
“Oh stop it, you’re so silly!” He said in girly voice.
“Only if you promise me you will never do that again!” I burst out laughing.
“Fair enough,” He chuckled, “Deal then.” We exchanged smiles, and then looked opposite ways. Chase concentrated on the road while I lay my face against the cold window.
“Dad should be back soon, your coach won’t want to miss your first competition.” I mused out loud.
“Nah, they should be back with in the next few days, coach will want to get some lessons in before Saturday.” Chase answered.
“Yeah, fair enough. I hope they have had a good time away.”
“If they weren’t, would they have stayed away so long?” He asked.
“Nah, s’pose not huh.” I answered, before leaning forward and turning the radio on. Grabbing my iPod I connected it to the radio station, playing The A Team by Ed Sheeran before casually throwing it back onto the dash.
“You’ll break it.” Chase said seriously.
“Break what?” I laughed.
“My heaaaaaaart!” He began singing.
“Oh stop it!” I interrupted, hitting his arm lightly.
“I’m kidding, you will break your iPod throwing it around like that.”
“Oh well. That’s what dads-slash-boyfriends are for!”
“For what?” He exclaimed.
“For buying me things, duh.” I grinned widely at him.
“Do you want to stay over?” I grinned at Chase as we overheard Harley talking to Paige.
“I was going to anyway… Invite or not… Awkward.” I heard her laugh.
“Oh really?” Harley said, sounding mischievous.
“Really!” Paige laughed, I heard the sound of somebody moving then, “No Harley! Don’t you even think about it!” Before the sound of Paige’s laughter filled the house, “Stop tickling me! Stop it!” She was yelling between laughs.
