Chapter 36: Pt.2

Max and I went inside hand in hand. I'm so nervous! His mom is from Korea, what if she doesn't like me? His dad might like me but his mom. What if it's the complete opposite and the dad hates me but the mom loves me? What if both of them hate me? Oh God help me! I feel like throwing up right now. Max owes me big time.

Suddenly I see a Korean woman and Hispanic man, both on one side, sitting at a table. Jesus this has to be them. As we got closer the couple looked at us. The woman smiled but then it faded, then man, on the other hand, kept a straight face.

Max - "Eomma. Dad. This is Milia Day. Milia..this is my mother Hee Young Yang, and my father Eugene Gomez."

Show time!

Me - "Hello, I'm Milia. It's very nice to meet you both."

Eugene - "Yes it is. Sorry for the short notice, I bet you were caught off guard."

Max pulled out my chair. I nodded.

Me - "You have no idea."

I said as I sat down.

Eugene - "Max didn't mention he had a girlfriend until right now. How long have you two been dating?"

I awkwardly looked at Max. Well fuck. He gave an awkward chuckle.

Max - "Well see Dad about that...we've only been dating for less than two weeks."

Both of his parents' eyes widen. They looked at each other.

HeeYoung - "I'm sorry. We didn't know. I had saw a picture of a girl on his phone and assumed it was his girlfriend. I got a bit excited. He never tells us anything about his relationships."

Max huffed and mumbled something. HeeYoung looked at him and sat back.

HeeYoung - "Didn't see her skin color either."

She said in Korean. This bitch! Both Eugene and Max looked at her. I'm assuming Eugene knows a bit of Korean. Max looked at me worried, hoping I didn't hear that. He knows I know Korean. Well. Let's fire back.

Eugene - "HeeYoung!"

Max - "Eomma!"

Me - "Gwaenchanha."

She looked at me surprised.

HeeYoung - "You know-?"

Me - "I was in Korea for 6 months, I'm basically fluent."

Well in total it was almost 6 months but she doesn't need to know that. Either way I said all that in Korean! She looked at her boys. Max and Eugene smirked.

HeeYoung - "I'm sorry."

Me - "It's fine, just don't judge a book by its cover."

Eugene started to chuckle as he sipped on his water.

Eugene - "I like her already!"

Max laughed as they high fived. Cute.

8:32pm.

The rest of the night I talked about my dancing and Korean life. I also heard stories of Eugene's military days. Even though HeeYoung is a bit of bitch she's cool, but Eugene is awesome! Love that guy, he's super funny.

Max - "Well it's about time to wrap this up for now."

Eugene - "What? Why? I'll buy us some drinks, this party is just getting started."

Oh no. I looked at Max.

Eugene - "What? What's wrong? You can't drink Milia? Are you pregnant?"
