Chapter 39

12:11pm.

I sat on the couch staring at the picture of my baby. Do I really want to keep it? What if this is my last chance to actually become a mother? But I don't want to betray Jorge. I remember on his birthday I cried all day, I kept thinking about what he could've looked like. I felt like he would've had Julien's eyes yet my everything else. Oh gosh, he would've have Julien's temper and my attitude? That boy would've been screwed.

"What are you smiling at?"

I jumped and hid the picture, when I saw it was Cassie.

Me - "Nothing. What's up?"

Cassie - "What's that picture?"

Me - "Nothing."

She sat down next to me and grabbed the picture. Her jaw dropped.

Cassie - "Please tell me this is J.J."

I stared at her.

Cassie - "Milia!"

Me - "Don't say anything!"

Cassie - "I can't believe you!"

Me - "Well believe it."

She sighed and I did the same.

Cassie - "Who's the father? Ethan?"

I closed my eyes and shrugged my shoulders.

Cassie - "What do you mean you don't know?"

Me - "Your lovely sister was being a little slut in Miami these last few months."

Her eyes widen.

Cassie - "Oh my God! What is wrong with you?!"

Me - "Look it doesn't matter because the father isn't gonna know one way or another."

Cassie - "Why?"

Me - "If it's Ethan, there's gonna be family drama and we don't need that. But if it's the other dude...he sure as hell can't be in the baby's life."

Cassie - "Why not?"

Me - "Because. He's just not a good person."

Max and I were eating together. Then a baby started screaming, we looked over and then Max rolled his eyes.

Max - "Kids are the worst thing ever. I don't want one."

Me - "Why?"

Max - "First off, I have to commit to the little fucker for the rest of my life. Second, my girl is gonna get ugly and fat, no thank you. And kids are so much fuckin' money."

I looked down at my plate and played with my food.

Me - "He doesn't want kids what so ever."

She nodded her head.

Cassie - "You know Mom's gonna kill you right?"

I nodded.

Me - "But you want to know the fucked up part of this?"

She huffed,

Cassie - "What?"

Me - "YG contacted me. He wants me back in."

Her jaw dropped again.

Cassie - "Fucking shit Lia! What the hell's gonna happen with you?"

I looked at my big sister with tear filled eyes,

Me - "Ya know...I think the universe is either punishing me or testing me. Why are the three things that I lost coming back at me, all at the same damn time? And honestly I think I'll only be able to pick two out of three. I can manage dancing and a baby or I can manage dancing and singing."
