Chapter 1.1

"Sa5m!! Hurry up. We're going to be late for school!" Katherine shouted across the living room.

"Coming!" Sa5m shouted back.

It was their first day of being seniors. Katherine is only 2 months older than Sa5m. Katherine is short, with dazzling blue eyes and a curly blonde hair while Sa5m is meduim tall with a hazelnut brown eyes and a straight black hair.

"How do I look?" Sa5m asked as she stepped out of the room.

"Ah, I don't know. Why?" Katherine answered while sipping her milk.

"I have to look perfect! Today is the voting for the next cheer captain. And that has to be me." Sa5m answered as she grabbed some of the pancakes over the transparent glass table.

"Don't forget to do the chores after school ladies. Your father and I are going to attend this council meeting for the organizing of the party." Jessie informed the girls while walking across the living room to find laundries.

"Look mom, if I happen to be chosen as the captain, I might be home later than 6." Sa5m choked to some of her words chewing her pancakes.

"Okay darling, but no later than 7, is that clear?" Then the school bus making some noisy siren was waiting outside.

"Thanks mom. Bye!" Sa5m gave Jessie a kiss on the cheek, grabbed her bag and walked out of the door.

"See you at dinner mom. Bye!" Katherine did as well.

They both half run all the way to the bus and made a bet if who's going to find a seat first, like they always do. The ride to school is less than half an hour.

"Here we go." Sa5m sighed as she stepped out of the bus.

"Sa5m, relax. They'll love you to be the cheer captain of the squad." Katherine reassured Sa5m as they started to walk inside the school grounds. " Come on, they all love you here."

"Aw . . . don't say that Katy, they love you too." Sa5m said while punching her I.D at the gate for an entrance.

"Yeah. But not as much as they love you. The whole school loves you, the teachers, elders, children, in fact, the whole town, I guess loves you." Katherine exclaimed.

"Seriously Katy, you're over reacting."

Katherine chuckled. "It's true! As a matter of fact, you can be chosen to run as Ms. Arcata 2013 and might win it.

"Okay . .. Enough with all of that already. Now," Sa5m looked around the wide parking lot. "We seriously need a car."

"I know. I hate riding the bus."

"It's your birthday next month. You can ask mom and dad for a car." Sa5m suggested.

"Yeah . . . why not. It's worth a try. I already took my driving lessons a year ago, which means I can drive smoothly and, I already have my license too." Katheine agreed.

They both went to their own classes. They eat separately at lunch with their own friends but their tables are not far from each other. After their class, Katherine went to find Sa5m first before going home.

"Hey pretty." Katherine greeted her.

"Hey! Aren't you going home yet?" Sa5m asked while putting on her rubber shoes.

"I am. I just want to see you first before going home. Okay, let us split the chores. I'll do the laundry and the dishes and when you got home, you'll clean the house." Katherine said.

"Got it." Sa5m replied.

"Okay. Well, good luck." Katherine said her goodbye and went through.

"Don't worry, you'll sure be chosen." Mike, her bestfriend whispered to her.

"God! Mike! You startled me!" Sa5m said surprisingly.

Mike chuckled. "Gotcha!"

"Where's Katelyn?" Sa5m asked for her girl bestfriend.

Katelyn is so different from Sa5m and Mike. She always hits the book while Mike and Sa5m hits the ground. They were both in the squad for three years. The three of them were bestfriends since the 6th grade. Mike lives four blocks away from where Sa5m lives and Katelyn lives near the Cemetery.

Most in their school thought Katelyn as weird. Back in the 4th grade, some of their classmates teased and bullied her for being always quiet and alone. She screamed loudly and by maybe a coincidence, the glass of the school's windows were all broken.

"She sure is at the library again." Mike answered her.

At the 6th grade, Mike and Sa5m met at the annual basket boys program wherein Sa5m bidded for Mike. Mike is a very good looking, fine man, but loves cheering. He's not a gay or a bisexual, he just loves cheering.

With his looks, he is certainly the hottest guy walking at Arcata High. But everyone thought his British accent is quite lame. At first, it was just Mike and Sa5m, then Sa5m felt sorry for Katelyn so she convinced Mike for them to try befriending her.

They were best of friends. They do almost everything together, except sometimes, it is still creepy for them some of Katelyn's behaviors. But being friends with Mike and Sa5m, Katelyn's weirdness somehow lessen.

"But I told her to watch us today. Even just today." Sa5m said.

"Well, she's obviously not here. So, where else could she be?" Mike said. "C'mon, let's start stretching now."
