You Will Need:
- Nail Varnish remover
-Cotton wool
-Nail scissors
-Nail File
-Cuticle cream
-Bowl of warm water
-Cuticle stick
-Cuticle clippers
-Hand cream
-Clear varnish for base and top coat
-Nail Varnish
1. Remove old nail varnish
2. Trim nails then file them into the shape you want
3. Rub a bit of cuticle cream into the nail beds, then soak the fingers of whichever hand isn't being worked on in the bowl of warm water for a few minutes.
4. Using a bit of cotton wool wrapped around the tip of the cuticle stick, loosen the cuticles if they have been sticking to the nails and push them back. Do it gently. Its tempting to push and prod at them but if you tear them, it will be sore. If there are long bits of cuticle, cut them off neatly with cuticle clippers.
5. Massaged hand cream into your hands.
6. Wipe over the nails with soapy water to get traces of hand cream or cuticle cream off nails.
7. Apply clear base coat to cover up any roughness in the nail and give a smooth surface to paint onto. This will also stop coloured varnish from staining your nails.
8. Paint on two coats of colour, avoiding painting over the cuticles at the base of the nail. Leave a few minuted between each coat. Finish with a layer of clear top coat.
