A/n hello you guys how are you?
This chapter isn't that late-yay excitement
I have two important massages-
1. Next chapter probably won't be on time as I'm suppose to update it on the 11th which is my birthday so we'll see.
2. This chapter is dedicated to the amazing @angie_ smilez, I am very thankful for the amazing, supportive comments you leave, they seriously make my day💗The next four days flew by, dans father returned from his flight, surprising Dan with a few new video games, which was a pretty common thing for him to do.
When his father first stepped into the apartment Dan was scared he was going to notice somehow that Phil spent a few days there there, which made no sense since Dan tidied the whole apartment and cleaned everything, well everything besides his bed spread, he couldn't, that was the only thing that helped him get through the night, he had been sleeping better, only waking up about once or twice a night, but never because of nightmares, he wasn't completely sure what was the reason for his nightly awakenings, but he didn't really mind it as long as he got to get more sleep.lately he has been looking and feeling better, the dark circles that seemed to stain his under eyes for about a year now, started to fade, and so did some of the scars on his arms, as he hadn't cut in- not that he was counting- a full week now. He was proud of himself for once in a long time, he spent his days waking up at about 11 am, texting Phil good morning, making breakfast and eating, than he would lounge around the house, browsing the Internet, playing video games, and watching tv for a few hours, and at around 15:30 he was already out of the house, locking the door behinds him and telling his father he was going to 'get some fresh air' while he was actually going to his secret park, he already fixed it up a bit and he spent his time until 17:00 rearranging and cleaning the park or sitting on the soft grass just looking around, he even bought a scratch pad and started drawing the way the sky looked through the creases between the tree's branches, because that was what made him fall in love with the place.
He and Phil were growing a bit apart, and it was his fault, whenever Phil would text him he would always answer shortly, not leaving much place for the conversation to grow, and as much as Phil tried to keep it going it would only last for a few minutes. Dan wasn't too worried by it, and he wasn't sure why, he should be freaking out.
Maybe he was over Phil?**
That day was the same as always, he was currently on his way back from the park with a smile spread across his face, that seemed to be his new look now.
Suddenly his phone buzzed in his pocket with a massage from his dad asking him to hurry back home, dan's smile faded a bit but he reminded himself that he was probably over reacting and proceeded with his walk home hurriedly, usually he would take his time and it could even take him up to forty minutes to get home, but that day he got home in twenty.
His father stood in front of him as he unlocked the door, they smiled at each other.
"Get dressed" his father ordered
"Why?"
"It's a surprise"
"If its a surprise than how am I supposed to know what to wear?"
"Fine, I'll just tell you then. Are you ready?"
"Yes dad" Dan rolled his eyes almost unnoticeably
"We're going to see Matilda!"
Dan turned pale
"Come on, you can do better than that! Aren't you excited? That's all you talked about when we skyped before you got here"
"I actually already saw it" Dan nibbled on his bottom lip nervously
"What? When?" His father seemed disappointed
"While you were at Chicago"
"Oh"
"Yeah"
his father though for a moment "alone?"
"Uh hu"
"Are you sure?"
could he possibly know? Did he know or did he just suspect it?
"Did you watch it with that punk Phil kid? I knew he was bad news, making you lie to me. who do people like him think they are? Walking around and corrupting our kids..."
Dan flinched at hearing the rough words and tone, he slumped his shoulders in submission and fear, but upon hearing his father saying Phil made Dan lie to him he became furious, Phil would never do that sort of thing, not only did he not know about dan's father not allowing him to invite Phil over, but he even worried that he might get upset at Dan.
"Enough" Dan said sternly, his father stopped talking abruptly and looked at him shocked "I went alone, I didn't invite Phil over, we barely even spoke since we parted at the airport"
"Oh, well, that's good" his father mumbled "I don't want you hanging around him"
"Dad" he whined "you promised you'd give him a try"
Dan's father sighed "fine, invite him over, I just, don't want you hanging around him" Dan gave him a dirty look "too much" he added, as if not to upset Dan too much.
Dan sighed in defeat "I'm going to my room"
"But, um" he stuttered "do you still want to go see Matilda, I mean you saw it but I already got the tickets and..."
"Fine" he grumbled, interrupting his fathers words once more, he knew it would make his dad happy if he agreed and if he wanted Phil and him to have any chance at whatever relationship they are going to have, whether as friends or boyfriends he has to be on his dad's good side.
"Good, now go and change, we have to leave soon"
As Dan exited the room he heard his dad mumbling something about everything being a struggle with him.
Dan's new look defiantly was no longer a smile.
