RECAP
"I, uh, used to have a sister but, she, um, passed a few months back." I said while looking down.
"So sorry to hear that, love." Liam said sympathetically. Niall looked thoughtful for a second before looking up quickly.
"Rosie Miranda Witaker."
"Um, yeah that's her. But how do you know that?" I asked, astonished.
"She is my-she used to be my- um, my girlfriend. Well my fiancee actually." What?
"What?" The rest of the boys asked at the same time.
END OF RECAP
While all the boys were chattering loudly, I zoned out for a moment.
*FLASHBACK*
"Mum, please don't cry!" I said while trying to calm the quiet sniffles i had myself. I know I was asking for too much. I mean what kind of a mum wouldn't cry at her oldest daughter's funeral? But seeing her uncontrollable sobs just made me want to curl up in a ball and cry, but I promised myself that I was done with crying.
As Rosie's casket was lowered into the ground, I noticed a boy standing all the way to the left, he had his head down, yet it was obvious he was crying. I could hear loud sniffles coming from him. Curious, I walked up to him.
"Excuse me?" I asked quietly, trying to not disturb the service going own. He looked up and I noticed startling blue eyes and blonde/brown hair.
"Yes?" I noticed his voice was full of sorrow. Who was he?
"Um. Who are you? And why are you here?"
"Um, I'm Niall. Your sister and I were, um close."
"Oh. You're Niall. You were her boyfriend right?"
"Well yeah I guess. Look I have to be somewhere right now, okay? Um, I'm really sorry for your loss. Have a nice day." Well that was rude. But I'm not going to let it get to me. I know how it is to loose someone that's close to you.
*PRESENT*
"You're the boy from the funeral. You're Niall."
The whole room fell silent. While Niall gravely nodded. How could I have not known this? I mean how many people are there in Doncaster with icy blue eyes, brown-blonde hair, called Niall?
"But...no. That's impossible. She d-died over three years ago. Y-you were in the X-Factor!"
"Yeah but I took a week off. I really loved your sister, April." I shook my head. This was all just too much for me to take in.
"You told us you were going to visit someone important!" Louis yelled.
"I didn't exactly lie, did I?"
"B-but you said you were her fiancee!" Louis yelled, once again.
"I-I was going to ask her to marry me before sh- before she died." Niall looked down sadly and his voice cracked at the last part. Deja-vu, huh?
"But-but Niall you were both so young." Louis said softly.
"I KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO LEAVE ME!" Niall said loudly. "I-I knew she was dying. I really loved her! I just wanted her to know that before she left. And if a marriage proposal was the way to do let her know that, then it was what I was going to do. I was going to ask her the week after she left. I still have the ring and everything!" Niall sobbed. I quickly ran up to him and gave him a big hug. He wrapped his arms around me and we just stood there. Hugging, and crying. We both pulled away after a long time. I sniffled lously before talking.
"I-I'm really sorry you guys. I didn't mean to ruin the night. But it was really great to meet you. I, uh I better go." I quickly grabbed my bag and ran out, leaving the door open. As I ran all the way to my house, tears rolled down my face. I knew Louis was hot on my heel, so I sped up a bit. I soon lost control when I thought I had lost him. I sat down as sobs racked my body. It soon began to pour, and the rain mixed in with my tears. I let an anguished cry and continued crying. As soon as I felt someone sit next to me, I knew it was Louis. He wrapped a coat around me, and then his arms. I didn't do anything. I didn't talk to him. I didn't look at him. I didn't even tense. I just looked down and continued to cry. Once the rain had stopped, and the only sign of my sadness was the tear tracks on my face, my head had somehow ended up on Louis' lap, but I didn't complain. His fingers were running through my hair, when one of us finally said something.
"You okay?" Louis asked sensing my tears stop.
I nodded slowly while standing up. He followed my lead and got up, grabbed my hand, and led the way back to my house. We were quiet during the whole walk. As we got to my house, I did something. I don't know what got over me but I just did it. I kissed him. I. Kissed. Him. And not on the cheek. I kissed him full on the lips. He kissed me back, and it was the happiest I've felt since I last saw my sister. I pulled away after feeling a strong need for air. He pulled away reluctantly, and had a pout on his bottom lip that made me want to lean in and kiss him. And I did. I kissed him...again. This time it was he who pulled away, only to pull me right back in. Third kiss in five minutes. Woah. Did I forget to mention that was my very first kiss? Well it was. And it. Was. Awesome. After we both pulled away, he looked at me breathlessly.
"Well then..." He awkwardly said and I couldn'y help but chuckle. He smirked smugly and I blushed. Why does he do this to me?!
"You didn't let me finish. Well then...I guess my feelings are mutual." He said and I couldn't resist teasing him.
"Oh you think I like you? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You just had a bug on your lips. And then it came back." I said sarcastically.
"Haha. Well then I guess I'll just leave."
"Wait no!" I called out to him.
"Yes?" He replied 'innocently'.
"Um do you want to come inside?" I asked timidly. He eagerly nodded and I walked in, followed by him. After putting in a movie, I began to nod off. I leaned my head on Louis' shoulder and he noticed I was falling asleep. He turned of the tv, and layed down, positioning me next to him. He wrapped his arm around my waist and connected my hand with his. Thinking I was fully asleep, he pressed his lips to my temple, while I grinned blissfully. I fell asleep with a smile on my face because, needless to say, it was the best I've slept in years.
