It's Over

LOUIS P.O.V.:

The rest of the day we just cuddled up on the couch and watched movies, like old times. Everything was great, until Eleanor came into the picture. She called at around 6:30, letting me know that she was coming over. Sadly, that meant that April had to leave. Soon. I insisted she stayed for a while longer, but she said she had to go study for a test tomorrow. Yeah right. She just didn't want to see Eleanor. I don't blame her though.

"Look Louis I really have to go." She insisted.

"No you don't. You're just saying that."

"Good bye Louis." I sighed in defeat, but nevertheless I tried to lean in to give her a kiss goodbye. She shoved me away slightly, and gave me a look the simply said 'No.'

"But whyyyyyy?" I whined.

"Louis we can't 'be together' if you are still dating Eleanor. You have to tell her, okay?" 

"Ugh. Fine. I'll see you soon?" I asked hopefully.

"Don't hold your breath!" She said with a wink, while blowing me a kiss goodbye and then finally walking away.

Approximately seven minutes later, Eleanor showed up.

"Hi boo." She said while leaning in for a kiss. I turned my head so that she only kissed my cheek.

"What was that all about?" Eleanor asked with a pout.

"Uh- I have a cold and I don't want you to get sick." She nodded, but still she looked unconvinced.

"And why does it smell like perfume?" Oh crap. She was obviously talking about April's perfume.

"I don't know. Maybe the maids were cleaning while I was gone? Okay look Eleanor the point is: I have to tell you something." I decided I wasn't going to sugarcoat it, and I wasn't going to stall either. I'm giving it to her straight.

"I have to tell you something too." She said with a nervous look on her face. Oh no.

"Okay you go first."

"Louis, I love you." Um what the hell? We haven't even been going out for a year! Did management put her up to this?

"Um okay?" I truly didn't know what to say.

"That's it?" She asked.

"Um thank you, I guess." She got an enraged look on her face.

"Louis I just told you I was in love with you! And all you have to say is thank you?! Do you not love me back?! Should we end this relationship?!" As much as I wanted to, I knew I couldn't break up with her. Modest! Management would kill me.

"No honey. It's just that- well you know me. I'm never one to say 'I love you' that easily." What a lie. It was a horrible excuse but what else was I going to say?

"It's fine whatever. How about we go to dinner?" She said casually. I really didn't want to go to dinner, but I agreed anyways.

We ended up going to Breadsticks, and guess who our waiter was? That's right. It was Matt. Oh I just love this guy.

"Louuis! Nice to see you again." He said with a fake smile.

Eleanor said, "Again? Do you guys know each other?"

"Yeah, yeah. Sure. He was here with April like a month ago." Our waiter said. I cringed, because soon enough, Eleanor continued talking.

"You brought her here? How could you? Were you cheating on me, Louis? Where you?" Oh my god. There is no way I'm getting out of this one.

Before I could say anything, Matt butted in "It sure looked like it. You guys- Louis and April, that is- look really good together." Okay, it was obvious this guy just wanted revenge. 

"Louis, let's go somewhere else, cause we need to talk." She said calmly. But it wasn't actual calmness. You know when someone is really mad and they just act calm? Yeah that's how she was acting.

*The next day*

To make a long story short, Eleanor and I broke up. It's over. Totally and completely over. Am I satisfied? Not really. I'm gonna be in so much trouble. On the other half, am I upset? Not at all. I'm relieved. The only thing left to do is tell April. I went over to her apartment after I knew she was done with school. As soon as she answered the door, I said it.

"It's over." It didn't take a genius to figure out what I was talking about.

"I'm sorry." She said, but I could tell she really wasn't.

"Don't be. At least now I get to do this without feeling guilty." I said before I leaned over and kissed her lightly.

She pulled away and gave me a dreamy look. But then, so suddenly, her expression changed into a puzzled one.

"Louis don't you think it's a bit too soon? I mean you just broke up with her."

 "April, you and I both have been waiting for this for three years. I have to disagree with you sweetie."

She gave me a faint smile, and said "You're right. You're totally and completely right. But I can't help but feel really guilty though. Poor girl."

"Poor girl?! She treated you horribly!" It was true. Eleanor despised April.

"I know but to be honest I don't really blame her. It isn't easy being in love with you, you know." She said casually.

"You're in love with me?" I said with a smirk.

"What? I never said that." She was blushing and she looked mortified. To be honest, I was infatuated by her too.

"I'm in love with you too." I said softly. Then she looked like if she might cry. I thought I did something wrong and I tried to comfort her.

"No, no, I'm okay." She said while wiping her eyes. After that, she wrapped her arms around me and sobbed into my shoulder. I didn't know what to do, so I apologized.

"I'm sorry." I said.

"No, no you didn't do anything wrong. The complete opposite actually. You're so amazing. And I don't know why I started crying. I guess I'm just emotional or whatever." She said while sniffling softly.

"Maybe it's that time of the month." I said jokingly.

"Louis!" She smacked me on my forearm and I pretended I was hurt.

"Okay, okay sorry. I apologize." I laughed loudly. Suddenly, April looked at me with a fond look in her eyes.

Then she kissed me, (instead of the other way around) and it was great.
