When she woke, from her horrible memory that had plagued her all night, she found that it was noon. She was hungry and needed a bath. A short time later, as she was sitting up getting dressed, Orenda came up with some new bandages.

“Good morning Kaji, did you sleep well? I came up earlier but you were still asleep and I thought it best to leave you.” She asked sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Yes I did. And thank you for letting me sleep I needed the rest.”

“Here I want to change your bandages.”

Kaji smiled at her, “I would like to take a bath first, and I feel so dirty. All this filth can’t be good for the injury.”

Orenda laughed, “Of course, you are right. I’ll do the bandages after you get done. You will never believe this but they have a place called a bathroom for bathing in doors in a tub and a funny looking bucket that is very loud for eliminating in.”

“Indoors? Wouldn’t that stink after a while?”

“No you pull these handles and water caries it all away into the ground,” Orenda led the way towards the house.

“I hardly believe it,” She said in amazement but followed out of curiosity. Her side was sore and it was hard to breath and move because of the stiffness. The soft snow that had fallen over night had not helped as she sunk a bit before hitting the hard pack from before. In the living room all of the females sat around and talked, the babies asleep on the floor. They waved to Kaji as she went by and she smiled back at them calling a simple hi before moving up the stairs. Every step caused her to glare at the stair as pain shot through her side. Finally, they reached the top and went down the hall to a small room that held a tub big enough to hold a person and a small bucket attached to the wall and beside it a funny shaped something that looked like two boxes on each other.

“This is the ‘sink’, the water comes out of the ‘faucets’ and down the ‘drain,’” Orenda explained pointing to the thing on the wall. She then pointed to the two buckets. “This is the ‘toilet,’ you open this lid, do your business and then pull this handle and it all is washed away. Halona says to always put the lid back down. And here is the ‘bathtub’, you put this ‘plug’ down on this ‘drain’ and with the hot and cold water from this ‘faucet’ you fill it as deep as you need. You can use this soap for your body and these bottles are shampoo and conditioner for your hair. I’ll be back in an hour to do your bandages. Oh and here is a towel to dry yourself.”

With that she left closing the door while Kaji filled the tub with water. She stripped off her cloths after turning the water off and looked at her wound, it was closed but it was a nasty purple color with yellow/green edges. She let herself sink into the water lowering until all of her was covered and her head rested on the edge. The warm water soothed her sore muscles. When the water started to cool off she washed herself and grabbed the bottle of ‘shampoo’ reading the directions.

“Put small amount into hair and work through hair until lathered. Rinse and follow with conditioner.” She did just that making the lather turn her hair white before rinsing and then using the conditioner. Finally clean, she dragged herself out of the tub and pulled up the plug. For a moment she just watched the water slowly swirl and lower before reaching for the towel.

Movement behind her caught her eye and she turned quickly ready for an attack but what she saw made her stumble back in shock. A female stood completely nude in front of her a ‘bathroom’ surrounding her. She looked over the figure noticing the color of her hair and the injury just below her breast. It began to dawn on her as she lifted her hand to her face and the figure did as well. She walked up to the image and touched the cold glass. Our reflection?
