Chapter 10: Untied Knots

*Justin's POV*

I felt a sting at Ryan's words and I knew he was right no matter how much I denied it. Only the thing was, there was absolutely no way of fixing it now. I had dug myself a hole, and this particular hole is so immensely deep that I have no escape. I'm trapped and the only one with the ladder tall enough is Scarlett, but I have to make her want to give to me first.

"Babe I saw Ryan leave so is that my safe call to come in?" Selena asked

"Yeah of course." So much for getting that ladder.

"So how are you feeling" This was now the 87th time that she had asked up to count.

"I'm fine." I said lacking interest or emotion.

"I'm sorry I know it's annoying of me asking for the dozenth time now, but it's only because I care."

"87th" I corrected

"What?"

"Never mind, baby, it's fine I'm sorry too for being so rude about it." I held her close to my chest

Scarlett's POV

"So how long until I get out of this asylum?"

"2 days drama queen." My mother replied

"Two days? What am I suppose to do here for two days?" I wanted to get out of that place then and there

"You have me to entertain you." She boasted

"I'd much rather poke pins through my eyeballs." I muttered under my breath

"Always so charming sweetheart." She laughed bitterly

"Tell me how you heard that but you never hear me when I'm yelling for help from you?"

"A mother hears all it's just what she chooses to listen." I rolled my eyes at her words.

"Hmmm so what's going on with you and Justin?" She teased

"Absolutely positively nothing." I assured

"Oh? So you're not so in love with him that you don't know what to do." She mocked me fanning her face in over exaggeration.

"You were eavesdropping?"

"Oh come on I do it all the time I mean it's not really that big of a deal."

"Why is it that privacy and space don't exist in your vocabulary?"

"Because I am your mother. Now quit stalling and tell me what's going on."

"Ok so maybe I like him a wee bit."

"Wee bit? Ya sure it's not a wee larger than that?"

"Nope."

"Hah, okay."

"No really I'm serious."

"Sure you're not."

"But I am."

"Not buying it."

"Well buy it baby because it's the truth."

"Ok so if I told you that the bouquet of flowers with that card and that huge teddy bear were from him you wouldn't be gushing like crazy?"

"Poker face."

"Read the card and try to keep that poker face after that."

I opened the card to see a cute little teddy bear, and more importantly a voice. It was him.
