"Auditions for The Phantom of the Opea will begin now. As was told before everyone in the drama class must audition, a main roll is not necessary, but then again why would you join this class to stand in the chorus, am I right? Each roll must be accompanied by a monologue by that character and a song from the character as well. I will assort you based on what fits and you'll be assigned a specific scene to act out with another person of my choice. Everyone understand?"

There were a few' yes sir's' but mostly nods from the anxious and gut wrenchingly nervous students. Tension filled the air like a suction cup.

After a prologued waiting time the familiar name of Liam was called.

"Good luck" I whispered

"Thank you."

He went down in front of the class. "I will be auditioning for the roll of the Phantom"

He sang The Music of the Night and his voice was amazing. He acted out Erik's monolgue and overall he was a perfect performer.

"Bravo! Next I'd like to see Mr. Sommers for the same part."

"You were serious when you said you were auditioning?" I asked looking up at him

"I'm about to show you what real acting is sweetheart."

"You're up against your best friend."

"And we agreed that all is fair."

He walked down to where Liam previously stood. "I'll be singing The Point of No Return."

"Can I ask why you picked that song when everyone else trying out for the phantom sang The Music of the Night?"

"I want to stick out and show that I'm diffent and knowing it's not the safe choice makes it all the better to upstage."

"I applaud your confidence now show us if you can live up to the high standard you speak of. Blow me out of the water Mr. Sommers."

He started off with a strong tenor voice taking me aback. He paced around the room with the song getting more and more confident with each surprised face. he circled Mr. Fitch singing of seduction just as Erik (The Phantom) did in the play.

When he finished Liam looked green in the face. "I thought his performance was going to be a big joke to mock us all."

"I never knew he had a voice like that."

"I don't think anyone did."

He bangan his monolougue clearing his breath. "I am dying...of love...That is how it is..." By the end I was hooked on him like a fish at the sight of a worm. It was hard to believe that someone as vile and repulsive as he could become such a trumendous actors and that was one of the deceptions of life. The room broke out in applause and he merely smirked walking back to his seat.

"You can't even deny that you loved that you didn't even take a second to blink through the whole thing."

"Pshhhh, no..." I shook my head laughing. "You really took me by surprise."

"Ladies can't resist."

"See and that's why I can't complement you."

"Ya know there's a part of you that wants me."

"Yeah ok no."

"Next up: Scarlett for the roll of Christine Daaé"

"Wish me luck"

"Good luck" Liam whispered

"You'll need it" I narrowed my eyes at him choosing not to retort angirly

"Now we've all heard you sing Saturday night and I think it's safe to say that you're blessed that there is no form of rapping in this roll."

"I wasn't that penetrating. I think Nicki would've been proud had she seen it."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night Miss Sinclair." He paused to laugh bitterly. "Oh and congrats the baby isn't his. I would've expected it to go down on Springer or Maury, but I guess Fallon is the new show for paternity fueds."

"Your minifying of the situation only fuels me Mr. Fitch."

"The more gas, the better drive."

"I chose to sing Think of Me." I went through the whole procedure fishing with the last line of the monolgue. "I made one last effort; my limbs stiffened, my mouth opened to scream, but a hand closed it, a hand which I felt on my lips, on my skin...a hand that smelt of death. Then I fainted away."

"You're a very strong soprano."

"I'll take that as a compliment." I shrugged walking back to my seat.

"No wait come back here."

I walked back down to him. "Yes?"

"I want you to sing Christine's part in The Point of No Return and..." he scanned the room "Liam come accompany her with The Phantom's part."

"You're giving The Phantom to Liam?" Chaz tried his best to not come across as rude.

"There's no definte yet I'm just trying things out for the time being."

We performed the part that wasn't even specified on the procedure, but as I tried again to make a mad dash for my seat I was stopped yet again.

"Do it one more time, this time with Chaz."

"She's my Christine?"

"You'll be playing Christine and I'll have Liam seduce you as the Phantom."

He face reddened. "Ya know Scarlett doesn't sound all too bad now."

"That's the spirit."

I had to admit our voices blended perfectly, and I couldn't help but to stare at him in awe of his voice. Through all the sickening parts of him he actually had a hidden talent.

"That blew me away. I think I know my leads."

"Joy." Chaz's voice was filled with sarcasm

"Shouldn't you give it a second thought?"

"Don't you want the part?"

"Trust me I want it more than anything I just don't think it's right to tear all of these people down right after they auditioned."

"That's how it is in the real world, sorry to disappoint."

I merely nodded finally retrieving to my seat.

"You got the roll!" Liam whispered excitedly

"But you didn't." I frowned

"It's fine I promise."

"I told you that I would snag the part." Chaz whispered smirking

"I don't know how I feel about this"

"I would rather have crack Jean than you."

"Jean does crack?"

"Have you not seen her pinky finger? And everything about her?"

"No wonder. Ew."

He merely shook his head at my obliviousness.
