"Why the hell would you lie to him?" Justin yelled
"Because I knew if I told him the truth he'd be so disappointed. Didn't you hear what he said?"
"Scarlett he's our best friend!"
"Don't you think I know that? I've never lied to him before."
"Do you think I have?!"
"Stop yelling at me!"
"You deserve to be yelled at for what you've done."
"You played along!"
"Who's yelling now?"
I furrowed my eyebrows in frustration.
"I only played along because you practically begged me to." He retorted.
"Yeah well it was still your decision."
"Are you always this stubborn?"
"Can we please just get back to the problem at hand?"
"There is no problem because I'm gonna tell Ryan the truth."
"Yeah alright you have fun with that."
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"It means I know you won't do it."
"I'll tell him right now."
"And you know what that will do? It'll make him hate you for lying to him."
"But you're the one who lied?"
"Oh and who backed up all of my lies?"
"I'm still gonna tell him."
"You can't."
"I can and I will."
"We promised him to stay friends and only friends."
"So what do we do then?"
"We fake it."
"What if our parents say something?"
"Tell them not to say anything."
"We're just digging this hole deeper."
"We'll make it out somehow don't worry."
"I really hope you can stick up to that word."
"Don't worry I've got it all under control." I assured
And thus began the lying games.

My mother had planned a gathering to get to know Justin's mom so here we all were sitting around a dinner table. Justin, Ryan, and I with our mothers.
"Can you believe that you'll both be off to college in a week?!" My mom asked.
"It's still sinking in."
"The dorm life is gonna be great." Ryan added
"Yeah for you, frat boy." I teased sticking my tongue out
"Whatever. I'm sure you'll get a good roommate."
"A girl can only hope."
"It's gonna be so great the partying, the alcohol, the freedom." Mrs. Butler shook her head laughing
