Arielle Shaylene's POV:

We all gather in a circle around the lady from yesterday, ready for our second group challenge.

"Today we will be playing a game, an old game, from before Panem. It's called lazer tag," says the lady.

A few people yet excited, but I have no idea what it is.

"For lazer tag, you will be in groups of 8. You will each have a vest that when the lazer from another person's gun hits you, your vest will vibrate and you will be eliminated for 10 seconds, then you will be back in. You only get 3 lives, then you're out. Your twins vest will do the same yours does, so when you're out, so is your twin. When you're out, your vest will vibrate and beep and you must leave," she says, "and one last twist, the room will be dark with neon lights on the walls you can hide behind and lights on your vests."

We all look around excitedly.

"Now, for your groups. There will be 6 groups of 8. Red group, Quinn and Quincy, Olivia and Olive, Jax and Jaz, Pepper and Piper," she says and they all meet up in a group behind the lady.

"Orange group, Arelynn and Ashlynn, Rosalynne and Ryan, Grace and Faith, Jensen and Justin," she says and they meet in another group behind her.

"Yellow group, Samantha and Amanda, Drin and Devon, Cara and Cade, Road and Rylee," the lady announces and they group up.

"Green group, Xavier and Xander, Willow and Mara, William and Tyler, Sadie and Saige," she announces and they walk towards eachother.

"Blue group, Brynn and Ben, Sapphire and Aquamarine, Stephen and Coleson, Arielle and Marina," she says and we walk in a group.

"Purple group, Amethyst and Amber, Lynx and Lynch, Kayeland and Roland, Summer and Autumn," she says and the last of the pairs group up.

We get lead to a door, and outside of the door we get vests with lazer guns attached to them.

We step in the room.

"Groups, go to the corner with your color. When the beep goes off, un clip your guns and you may begin," says the lady as she leaves the room. I'm assuming she can watch us through a camera.

Suddenly the lights go off and neon colors illuminate the room. Our vests glow a neon aqua blue color.

Beep.

"Split up with your twin, go!!" Whispers Ben and he runs off with Brynn.

I start running beside Marina and we hide behind a wall that the edge is illuminated a neon pink.

Multiple buzzes are heard and a few shrieks, some followed by swear words.

I notice there is a screen with our names written in our colors with how many lives left and if we got shot, how many seconds we have left.

So far, Olivia and Olive, Jensen and Justin, Willow and Mara, Sadie and Saige, and Amethyst and Amber all have 2 lives left.

I see 2 red vests come into sight. I look over at Marina and we both shoot at the same time, causing their vests to buzz and they ran away fast.

We run in a random direction and find 2 blue vests, so we join them for a second. It's Brynn and Ben.

"What now, none of our group members have lost any lives. Should we gang up or split up?" I ask.

"Us four can gang up, let's go," Brynn says and we get up.

We run in the direction of 2 yellow vests, and corner Samantha and Amanda. We shoot at them all at once and their vests vibrate. We act like we ran away, but hide around the corner.

Once they're allowed to shoot again, we jump out and shoot them, angering them. They try to shove past us, but once their 1 seconds are up we shoot them one last time and their vests beep.

Their names go dark on the screen, and they scowl as they walk past us.

I high five Brynn.

"First tributes out, Samantha and Amanda," the ladies voice booms.

We run to our corner and find Sapphire and Aquamarine there.

"Should we split up again?" I ask.

"Yes, but if we see each other and are near somebody else, we gang up," says Ben.

"Ok," I say and Marina and I run off.

During the next 45 or so minutes, Olivia and Olive, Jax and Jaz, Rosalynne and Ryan, Road and Rylee, William and Tyler, Stephen and Coleson, Amethyst and Amber, Kayeland and Roland all get out. Us responsible for 4 of them.

We have 6 people left in the blue group. We have 2 lives left. Brynn and Ben have 2, Sapphire and Aquamarine have 1.

"There's still so many left," Marina complains.

"I know," I say, wiping sweat off my forehead.

Suddenly I hear 3 beeps and the rest of our group comes running.

"The rest of the purple group ganged up on us, but we took them out," says Sapphire.

"Shoot!!" Marina yells, looking behind us. There were four green vests that belong to Willow, Mara, Sadie, and Saige.

We shoot at them and they all get out, each only having one life left.

"Sorry cousins," Aquamarine shouts at her cousins as they leave the room.

We all split up again. Marina and I hide behind a wall, looking through a hole that's in the wall. I make out the faces of Xavier and Xander.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are," says Xavier, "I know you're there."

I count up to 3 on my fingers and on 3, we jump out and shoot at them, but unfortunately, they had 2 lives, leaving them with 1.

"Oh, you're gonna get it once we can shoot again," says Xander.

I look over their shoulders and see Sapphire and Aquamarine. Sapphire puts her finger to her lips, and I slightly nod.

Once their 1 seconds are up, Sapphire and Aquamarine shoot and the boys are out.

We run away, listening to their cussing.

The game seems to go on forever. After another 50 minutes, 5 more pairs get out, none because of us. 1 because of Brynn and Ben.

Now all that's left is Pepper and Piper, Cara and Cade, and the rest of our blue group. All of the careers are out.

I turn around and see 2 red jackets, Pepper and Piper. We get shot by them, leaving us with 1 life left.

Luckily, Sapphire and Aquamarine come up behind and shoot them before our 10 seconds are up.

1 pair left before our group wins.

I hear a scream and a buzz and run to see Brynn and Ben now have 1 life left.

I shoot at Cade and Cara. Their vests beep.

"Congratulations to the blue group, the winners of the 2nd group challenge," the ladies voice booms.

We high five and scream, hugging eachother.

The game took so long, that training is over. Tomorrow we have half a day of regular training before the evaluations.

"After all of that, I need to rest," I say, and we all laugh, before heading to our floors.
