"Consider this a gift, courtesy of Izaya Orihara."

"BANG!"

Shizuo Heiwajima fell to the concrete to die in a puddle of his own blood.

Slowly he blacked out from blood loss yet the last thing he could think was,

"Flea."

--- time skip: one day later ---

--- Point of view: Shinra's apartment ---

Shinra and Celty were watching the morning news. Stories and reports on (y/fn) had died down. Outside the hotel her company had her stay at was a small memorial of flowers and fan gear, candles and heart felt messages.

Today the news was reporting another story:

"Breaking news! Ikebukuro's strongest man Shizuo Heiwajima has been found dead."

Shinra spat out his morning coffee in utter disbelief as Celty began furiously typing.

"WHAT KIND OF NEWS IS THIS! This isn't true is it??? Shizuo is not dead right!"

As the woman typed on the news continued.

"Police came across a street massacre. 26 unidentifiable Yakuza were found dead while 7 are in critical condition. Shizuo Heiwajima was found lying in the street assumed unconscious. However medics on the scene pronounced him dead on the scene. His death comes in the wake of the abduction of his ex girlfriend and beloved Ikebukuro model (y/fn) (y/ln)."

Shinra shook his head, "Celty that can't be true. Shizuo wouldn't be killed by a bunch of Yakuza... They have no reason to attack him..."

Celty placed her helmet where her head would be.

"I'm going out to investigate. I don't believe this. You do your own searching too... I have a feeling that Izaya could be behind this."

Shinra nodded.

The mood between the two was a somber seriousness. Ikebukuro was always a bit crazy. Such a big city had all kinds of unexplainable phenomenons...

However the death of Shizuo Heiwajima was impossible.

--- Shizuo's point of view ---

All he could see was blackness. All he could feel was darkness.

His eyes weren't open, but he didn't need to open them to know he was trapped in an absolute abyss.

So he began racking his mind for memories of what happened.

"That's right," he mentally growled, "I've been shot... A lot..."

He internally sighed as the words the yakuza said before busting a cap in him rang in his ears.

"Consider this a gift, courtesy of Izaya Orihara"

Mentally Shizuo was gaining anger.

In the darkness, he could feel the sudden surge of rushing blood reviving his veins. He could feel his heart pounding. He could feel the conscious side of his mind moving towards the back to allow his animal instincts to kick in...
