The Light Of The Darkness

"THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO ME!" InuYasha kneeled down beside his beloved mother, as he cupped her cheeks by his hands.

Those tears from his eyes fell down on her cold and pale colored face.

'no... it can't be late... please...' He tried waking her up, but it was too late.

Her time has ended.

Then all of a sudden, a neighbor of him went inside their house after hearing his loud scream.

She went in when she saw the door open.

When she saw the dead body and it's son...

"oh my goodness! Please tell me this is not true!" she covered her mouth by her own hands, as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Old Kaede. it's too late. she's gone." InuYasha gritted his teeth as she spoke those words.

"i-if that's so.... I must call the police to investigate." Old Kaede went back to her own house, and called the police while sobbing hard.

'mother... if only I was here to protect you... but I'm a dumb and useless man. so I couldn't.' He blamed himself from what happened.

After minutes of sobbing and blaming, he heard a loud noise from the outside.

"it must be the police." he whispered, as he let silence take over him.

Two policemen went inside, with a detective beside them.

The detective puffed out a smoke from his mouth, then tapped his shoulder gently.

"sir. we must talk for awhile. we need a short interview from you to have even small clues." The detective mouthed seriously.

InuYasha nodded; his red eyes looking straight at the detective with small hope, hoping that he can help.

He stood up and left the poor body along with the other policemen and investigators.

When he went outside with the smoking detective, he saw a huge crowd surrounding their house, crying and sobbing.

'mom is a really good woman. she left a good memory to all.' he thought sadly.

They both went outside, then the detective started their conversation.

"before we start the interview, let me introduce myself."

"sure, go ahead."

"I am Detective Hiten, also known as the "Thunder Detective". I was called by that name because I solve mysteries fast." He introduced proudly.

InuYasha wasn't listening at all; he just watched Hiten's mouth flab as his mind floated on his memories between him and his mom.

Hiten saw him not paying attention, so he snapped his fingers to get it.

And he succeeded.

InuYasha shook his head, realizing that his mind was awaken.

"Sir. let me start. Where were you when the woman died?" he asked as he pulled out his ballpen and notebook to take down notes.

"sorry, but I'm not on my mind. I must go." InuYasha answered in depression.

He walked away, but he was stopped by Hiten when he grabbed his arm.

"sir, please. we need clues." he begged.

"it's illness can't you see? now let me go and start wrapping that dead body on a blanket or something." he ordered, yet depression still can be seen on his eyes.

"oh. if that's so.... I can ask my fellows if they could send the body to the nearest funeral as soon as possible..." he mouthed.

InuYasha gave him a glare.

"listen detective, I don't have enough money to place my mom on a funeral. just throw her in a trash or something." he said as he quietly sobbed.

"is this what you will pay for your mom's doings?" A high-pitched voice asked him from behind.

He looked back, and saw a sobbing girl.

It was Kagome.

"Are you giving up already? Why are you? the InuYasha I know won't let depression pass him whatever happens!" she shouted.

"That InuYasha's gone." he mouthed.

Kagome shook her head, disagreeing.

"NO! that InuYasha is still there, I knew it! I know that he's there, because I trust and LOVE that InuYasha!" she confessed.

InuYasha stood there, frozen and blushing.

"K-Kagome.."

"I can help! I will give the money I earned to help you!" she used a fake smile, then showed it at him.

Old Kaede slowly went beside Kagome after hearing her words.

"I, will also help. your mom was a good woman, she gave a sweet memory to all." she stated, almost copying InuYasha's words.

"I, sir, will also help." Hiten stated while smiling.

InuYasha was so depressed, yet tears of happiness overflowed because of the kind words that he recieved.

"everyone. thank you." InuYasha smiled, while crying really hard.

Kagome smiled back, stepped close to him, then gave him a warm embrace.

"you're welcome, InuYasha." she mouthed, as tears streamed down her cheeks once more.
