School went by pretty fast, I'm not even surprised since the only thing I thought about was that teddy boy at the park.
As I was heading home from the bus, Stuart, my ex-boyfriend had to come and annoy me.
"Anna, love," he cooed, "couldn't you give me one more slightest chance?"
"Mike, I would love to, but what I saw was enough. I don't want to talk about it, and I think that we should just go on with our lives."
Stu and I had a falling out a few weeks ago after dating 2 years. When I was heading to his house, he had some chick hanging around. He said that she was just an old friend of his, but it didn't look like a friend since he had red kisses plastered on his face. And since then, he always has to annoy me with all his shitty apologies.
"But baby," he started snaking his hands around my waist. I attempted to slap them away, but they didn't go for long.
"Stuart, let me go!"
"Come on, love, you don't understand.." I was too weak to squirm out of his grip. No one was there to help me. Then I heard some footsteps come.
"Let her go." I didn't recognize who's voice that was, and I doubted that it would be George since he lived on the other side of the neighborhood and he was too quiet and shy to stand up for someone. And then it hit me- it was him. It was the teddy boy from the park. He was the last person I would think it would be.
"And who do you think you are?" Stuart snapped.
"Doesn't matter, just let go of her and get out of my sight."
"Okay, okay. I'm going. Here's your baby girl." Stu pushed me towards the boy, and with that, he ran off.
"Who are you?" I suddenly asked him. He looked at me with those dark, hazel eyes and simply said, "John. And you?"
"I- I'm Anna. Anna Scott. Why did you save me? We barely know each other."
"Do I have to know you to be able to save you?" He said with a friendly smile.
"No, I just thought- nevermind. Thanks for saving me, um, John." I didn't have the courage to look at him before, but when I looked at him now, I got some weird, tingly feeling in my stomach so I just plainly smiled.
"Oh that... That was nothing, really. Just helping a friend out, is all."
"Are you calling me your friend?" I was a bit surprised at what he said because we really didn't know each other, plus, we don't even go to the same school. So why would he call me a friend?
"Yeah," he scratched the back of his neck "I was thinking we could be friends and all, now that we're talking."
"Sure. Well, I think I'm going to head home now. It's getting late."
"Okay. So, wanna hang tomorrow?" He kindly asked me. As I looked at him, some of his curly, brown hair was a little messed up, but I found that cute if you ask me.
"Okay. Well, see you tomorrow, Johnny." It felt weird saying his name like that. It felt weird saying his name at all. I just felt different with him than I did with Stuart. Was I in love?
"Bye Anna." He gave me a quick peck on the cheek and with that he was gone.
