"Laura, can you please tell me where we're going to?" She just chuckled at my curiosity. "To a club, dummy." "Oh I know that, but which one! I hope it's not one of those high-class ones.." I sighed. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks in front of an illuminated building. "Well, I can call it the most high-class of all high-classes! I picked this one because I thought that you'd get a better chance to find someone of your own." She patted my shoulder as she made her way inside.
"Well are ya coming or what?" She shouted to me about 50 feet away. I came back to reality and trotted over to her with nervousness.Stepping inside, I saw gambling machines, bars, dance floors- everything you would find in a regular classy club in New York. Who knows, maybe I really will find myself a fancy lad.
After picking our booth to sit in, we ordered our drinks which were a simple glass of wine. Laura immediately started eyeing men she found "sexy". "Laura, please don't tell me that you're going to make a move on them." She gave me an annoyed look. "Of course not! I'm going to chat up only one of them!" I sighed. Before I could answer, she was off to find her dream guy. Oh how she makes it look so easy.
I took a sip of my drink, when suddenly the doors opened revealing, what looked like, four young men. I tried to hide myself, not letting them see me, but as always, I failed. Laura had made me put a fancy red dress on of hers so I'm not really surprised that one of them would notice me.
To my relief, they continued walking to the bar to order a couple of drinks. Slow music started playing and I could see Laura having a good time on the dance floor with some partner. Three of the unknown men started to flirt with girls of thier fancy as well which left one just sitting there alone at the bar.
I sighed, thinking of how to make the time pass quicker when I started to hear footsteps come closer to me. At first I thought it was Laura but they sounded like heavier steps.
"Mind if I sit down?" They asked with what sounded like a thick Liverpudlian accent which surprised me, honestly. "Um, no, not at all." I tried to hide my face a bit so I wouldn't have to hear the man flirting with me. "Whatcha doin' here all alone? Don't ye have anyone to accompany ya?" I finally found the courage to look at him, being the curious person I am. "I- I don't have anyone-"
"Anna?" He cut me off. "H-how do you know my name?" He placed two fingers under my chin and pulling the light towards my face to make him see me better. That's when I realised who he really was. "I can't believe it's really you." My eyes started to water. "John" I whimpered. Tears were now streaming down my face and he stood up and walked around the table so he could come closer to me. His eyes were teary, too. I never knew that John was one to cry. I threw my arms around him, burying my face into his neck. "I missed you so much." I cried. He caressed my head with his hand, not saying a word. I could hear him crying, too now. "Shhh..." He cooed, trying to comfort the both of us.
I really couldn't believe it was him that was in my arms.
