6 months later

So it's now March, 1960. Nothing has really changed around here if you're talking about Liverpool. It's still the same old Liddypol. But some things have changed. Paul and I have stayed as friends, though it has looked like we were dating. We've got to know each other very well. I eventually moved in with him. His dad didn't mind an all, and Mike was just overexcited about it. It was a nice house to live in. A cozy one.
After my seventeenth birthday in January, I went to a better high school, where I went to follow my dreams and learn to become a journalist. I still go there today, and it's quite of a school. It's tough to be there, but nice. I found one of my best friends there named Molly, who lives not too far away from my flat. Oh, and I forgot to mention- I got a small job in a café not far from the Cavern because I needed some money for myself now, since Mother passed in November due to some horrible illness she had. Anyways, with the money I've earned at work, I bought myself a little flat in Liverpool at the end of town, which is not far from the place where the boys live.
Speaking of the boys, they've been working extra hard these past months because they'll be going to Hamburg for some time in August. I'm so happy for them. I truly believe that they'll be famous one day, making all their dreams come true.
If you're wondering about how John and I are doing, we're doing quite fine, actually. I've come to the fact that I could forgive him, setting aside the event that happened that night. We've truly bonded once again, but I still can't come to the step of dating again. I'm afraid that he'll go to Hamburg and go snog some other bird again, leaving me hurt. He comes to visit me quite often, actually. He invited me over for dinner tonight, so I'm getting ready for it. To be honest, I'm looking forward to it. This'll be the actual first time we've been on a "date" after the so called incident. I wonder how he plans on doing it.
He said he'll come and pick me up at 6 in the evening. Looking at the clock, I notice it's 4:27pm. Maybe it's time to start getting dressed. I put on a striped black and blue tank top with jeans and my signature leather jacket. After getting dressed I put on some light makeup and mascara. After that, I try to do the best cat's eye I can do. Hopefully I won't take too long. After what seemed like 20 minutes, I look at the clock once more. God damnit. It's 5:38. That means John can be here any moment...
I decided to head to the door and put my shoes on. As if on cue, there's a knock on the door. After finishing work with my shoes, I open the door with a wide smile to another one in front if me.
"Hey Anna. Are ya ready?" John asked.
"Hi John. Yep, I'm ready." He pulled me closer to him and put his arm around my waist. I always loved John's embrace, no matter what the relationship between us was. After a few minutes of silence, I spoke. "So...How's Mimi doing?"
"Oh, she's fine alright. She actually went to a friend's house so we've got the house all to ourselves. But before she left, she made us some 'special treat'."
"Oh, that's nice to hear. I wonder what she made. I've always loved her fish and chips." John let out a laugh at the remark of her fish and chips.
"Anna. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't make fish and chips for a night out together." I giggled at my thought, realizing that it really was kind of a stupid thought to think of. Oh well.
"Yeah, I think you're right. Anyways, how's the rest of the band doing?"
"They're doin' just fine. We're getting better. Can I ask you a question?"
"Anything, John. Need anything?" Out of nervousness, John scratched the back of his neck like he always had.
"Um..no, not really. The lads and I came up with an idea. Well, George did, actually."
"Really? What is it?"
"Would you like to come with us to Hamburg? It'd be really gear if you'd go." He gave me a friendly smile.
"Oh John! You know I'd love to! But wouldn't I be a distraction to you?" John laughed again at my funny remarks.
"God, Anna. You'd never be a distraction to any of us."
"Okay, John. I'm really thankful for thinking of me." I gave him a kiss on the cheek, and he just squeezed me for reassurance.
"You know we'd do anything for you."

After a longer walk to his house, we reached our stopping point. I've been to John's house only once, and that was when I had just met him. I slept over at his place because I was a wreck after that pedophile came for me. But I'm glad that it's the past now, though some things I do regret and would do anything to bring them back.
Stopping in the driveway, I saw his house. It was a fairly big house. Well, it was bigger than Paul's, to be exact. It had a nice white fence and country styled windows. It was so cute and cozy. After a while of awkward silence, an older woman looking in her fifties opened the door, waving her hand at us. "Oh, Anna. I forgot to tell you, that's my aunt, Mimi. She's a pain in the arse sometimes, but she can be really sweet. I know she'll like you. There's no need to worry."
"Oh, that's wonderful, John. I can't wait to meet her." John opened the gate in front of the house, and Mimi started hollering over at us. "Hello, Johnny! Where have you been? Dinner's getting cold, and I'm just about to head over to Sandra's." John let out a little laugh, putting his arm around my waist again. "Okay, okay, Mimi. I'm here. Well, we're here. Mimi, this is Anna Howards. The girl that came over a few months ago. You remember?" I nervously smiled at the woman, waving my hand a little at her, just to look friendlier. "Hi Mrs., um...what's your name?" I laughed stupidly. "Oh don't worry about that dear. Just call me Mimi. Everyone calls me that." "Oh, okay then...Mimi. I'm Anna, by the way. I've been John's best friend for quite a while now." "Oh, yes, Anna. I've heard quite a lot about you. John keeps on coming home telling me his so called adventures he's had with you. You two look so cute together." John blushed, "Mimi, we're not a couple anymore. It's been like that for a while now. Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna go get some tea. Anna, would you like some as well?" "Um, sure, John. That would be great." Mimi looked at the both of us with a wide smile, adoring our relationship, even though we weren't really a couple anymore. Awkward silence filled the air between Mimi and I, while John was in the house making some tea. "Now come on, dear! I wouldn't want you freezing to death out in such weather! Don't be shy.." Mimi joked. I stepped indoors, taking in the sweet smell of the house and dinner all combined together. It was such a comfortable little house. I loved the atmosphere there. I wonder why John doesn't like living here with his aunt.

After about half an hour, Mimi started to get ready for going to her friend's house, which meant that John and I would have the home to ourselves and quietly eat our dinner together. "Johnny!" Mimi shouted, "I'm heading off to Sandra's now, okay?" "Okay, Mimi.. God, you've told me that for about fifty times now. See ya later then." He sighed. "Bye Mimi! I hope we'll meet again!" I half-shouted. "Bye, Anna, love. I hope we get a chance to meet, too. It's been great having you!" And with that, she closed the door with her.
