I fell in love
With the climbing tree,
On that day,
That she climbed with me.
We carved our names,
Into the bark,
We lost the time
And stayed till dark
We built a rope swing
For our own fun
And we would swing
Until the day was done
"Best friends" she called it
But I called it love
But she would just laugh,
From the tree up above
She told me to meet her there,
And I thought our love was true
Until she brought her boyfriend
To go climbing with us too.
The next day, I went alone
Climbing quietly,
I got to the top, and then I jumped
"Goodbye my climbing tree"
