A/N:

Oh my goodness guys!  I'm sorry I took so long.  I was sick over the weekend so I didn't feel up to editing it.  I hope this long chapter makes up for it!  It might take me a little longer to upload now though because I'm in school and what a workload it is!  I will try my best to upload as much as I can.  Also, if you haven't already, check out my other story, In His Eyes.  It's great, I promise.

Anywho....

“Why did you bring me here?”  I asked accusingly.  I looked over to Drew and saw he had a deep frown on his face.

“You needed closure.  I thought if we came here, you might find it.”  I looked at the house and felt an overwhelming feeling of fear.  Pure fear.

“It wasn’t my goal to bring you here to remind you of the bad times; I brought you so you could say a final goodbye to your past.  Tomorrow, you start you new life.  Leave this life behind, and renew it.  There is nothing to worry about anymore.  You are safe, and he will never come back into your life.  I will kill him before he gets the chance.”  He grabbed my hand and kissed it gently.

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly like I was taught.  I looked at the house one more time and looked back at Drew.  He had a comforting smile stretched on his face, and all of my fears dissipated.  I still felt hollowness in the pit of my stomach though, it was a dull ache that I knew too well before.

“Can we leave now?”  I asked.  I felt like a panic attack was on its way and I didn’t want Drew to see me like that again.

“Let’s go inside.”  He said in a mellow voice.  His eyes looked hard and emotionless.

I looked at him like he was insane and got out reluctantly.  I walked up to the door slowly.  I haven’t been here in so long.  It felt like a lifetime ago.  I never thought I would be here again.  I never thought Drew would bring me here, of all people.  Drew opened the door and I felt my breath catch in my throat.  It still looked the same.  Except the blood and fight scene were no longer present.  I took hesitant steps into the house and saw all my childhood memories flash in front of me.  All the pain and torment my father caused.  I saw the death of my mother.  A memory I never wanted to remember again.

I wonder if anyone has lived here after what happened.

“No one bought the place.  The town wanted to demolish it this weekend, so I thought it would be good to bring you here before they did.  They didn’t touch the place.”  He said like he read my mind.

“Why hasn’t anyone bought it?”  I was truly curious as to why they just put it up for sale or at least rent the place.

“No one wanted to buy it.”  He said easily.  His eyes still held no emotion.

“Are you alright?”  He seemed kind of off.

He looked at me and threw on a fake smile.  “I’m fine beautiful.”

I let it go and just let him be.  Whatever his problem was, he could work it out.  I walked down the hallway and looked into each room.  First was my parent’s room.  I took one look and was horrified.  There were beer cans thrown all over the place.  The bed wasn’t made and clothes were strewn all over the floor.  It was very dusty, I wonder if anyone even came in to clean up the place.

I walked over to the bed side table and found a picture of my mother.  She was smiling, and looked so beautiful.  Drew walked in the door and stopped.  I looked at him with teary eyes and asked if I could keep the picture.  His features softened and he nodded.  I put the picture in my purse and looked around the rest of the room.  The closet held my mother and fathers clothes.  I grabbed one of my mother’s dresses and smelled it.  It still smelt just like her.  I missed her so much.
