How can you lose,

If you haven't gained?

Some people lose hope,

But where does it go?

You say love hurts,

But where is the hurt from?

If the sky is blue,

Is the night black?

If trees give us life,

Why do we hate them so?

Why do we push away our friends,

And bring closer our foes?

They say they love you;

Why do they break your heart in the end?

Why do we trash and ruin,

The place we call home?

What reasons do we have,

To beat down each other?

If love is powerful,

Why do we hate one another?

Why must we see things,

To truly believe?

We don't need to see,

the wind blow through the trees.

To know it carries,

All our sins of liars and thieves.

But we don't stop these things,

We don't even try.

All we ever do,

Is hide behind lies.

Because we do not want to see,

The answer to this one question.

What is our main purpose,

In living?
