When I woke up the next morning. I was laying on the ground. Memories began flooding back. I got beat.

I instantly went to the mirror. I saw my cheeks were very red with bits of blood from the impact of the slaps and punches and also from the broken vase. I had a black eye as well blue, black and purple bruises covering my body. I also still had the cuts on my arms and thighs. I was actually scared. I can't believe they did this.

I looked at the time and saw it was 7:15. I have 45 minutes until Jace comes and picks me up. I put concealer all over myself to hide the bruises marks and cuts. By the time I'd finished you'd never know what happened. I wasn't talking any chances. I wore:

I didn't want to give it away that something was wrong so I decided to keep things as casual as possible. No one is gonna find out what happened. Especially. Not. Jace.

Knock knock knock!

Speak of the devil. I rushed downstairs and opened the door.

Riele: Hi Jace!

Jace: Hey Ri

He said kissing my cheek.

Jace: You ready to go?

Riele: Yup!

I grabbed my backpack and got into his car.

Jace: So... What did you do last night?

Suddenly I became really nervous. I can't tell him what happened! Just lie!

Riele: Nothing really... I had dinner with my parents and Reiya then some homework then I went to bed... You?

Jace: Family game night... Fun... NOT!

Riele: Come on! Your family's so fun!

I said with a giggle.

Jace: Not on family game night they're not! You know how competitive us Normans get!

Riele: Well I know how competitive YOU get

Jace: Your pretty competitive yourself you know

I gasped pretending to be offended.

Riele: I am not!

Jace: Whatever you say....

I playfully hit his chest. He pouted like a little kid.

Jace: That hurt

Riele: Don't care

I giggled again. Before we realised we were at school. Oh yay... NOT!

As we walked through the corridors people were staring and whispering. I couldn't help but feel insecure. I think Jace noticed.

Jace: Hey don't worry what they think.

I simply nodded. Luckily our lockers were next to each other.
