Jace's Anger

Riele's POV
The next day I approached Starbucks feeling very nervous. It's gonna be hard to face them after knowing what they did. Once I went in I saw Jace and Isabela already sitting at a table. I awkwardly went over and sat down.

Riele: Hello...

Jace: Hi...

Isabela: Hey...

We sat there in silence for a couple of seconds before Isabela spoke up.

Isabela: I'm just gonna start off by saying... Riele I'm really sorry. The kiss was an accident and I swear I didn't feel anything

Jace: Yeah... Riele I love you and only you

Riele: Do you? Because if you loved me why did you kiss her in the first place?

Jace: There was a party... The punch was spiked....

Wait, so while I was waiting for him at the orphanage he was partying?! I think I can forgive Isabela. She didn't know about what was going on so her going to the party was normal and lots of stuff can happen at parties... She probably didn't know what she was doing. Jace... He's got another conversation coming his way...

Riele: I forgive you Issy and I forgive you Jace. I understand that parties can be wild...

Isabela: Thank you Ri!

She yelled hugging me. I giggled slightly and hugged back.

Isabela: Well I should probably get going.

She said sadly.

Riele: It's ok. I have to go as well. Jace can you drop back at the orphanage.

Isabela: Wait what?! Orphanage?! What happened?!

She asked confused and shocked. I don't blame her. I'd probably react like that as well.

Riele: I'll explain later. Come on Jace.

Jace followed me. The drive back was completely silent. Once we got to the orphanage he decided to speak up.

Jace: Did you actually forgive me? Because it seems really awkward right now

Riele: I forgive you for kissing her. There's just one thing...

Jace: What is it?

Riele: You knew exactly what I was going through... Why would you party when you knew I needed you?

I asked him. He clenched his fist but slowly calmed down. That worried me. I've never seen Jace do that before.

Jace: I don't want to talk about it

Hell no! He isn't getting out of it that easy!

Riele: Well I need to know

Jace: Riele drop it

He said in a warning and somewhat angry tone. To be honest, I really don't give a damn right now.

Riele: No! Jace I'm sorry this is something I need to know!

He suddenly started up the car and started driving back to his house. Once again it was silent. I could tell Jace was angry but I don't see why. We got back to the house and Jace grabbed my wrist and basically dragged me to his room. I sat on his bed as he paced back and forth running his hands through his hair.

Riele: All I want to know is why you were at the party... You knew pretty damn well I needed you...

He stared at me for a few seconds before coming and sitting next to me. He put a hand on mine and stared into my eyes.

Jace: Riele you are the best thing that's ever happened to me... I love you with all my heart... And what you've been through...

I could tell he was getting frustrated and upset so I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze to show that he could talk about what he's feeling.

Jace: I didn't know... I'm your best friend and I couldn't see your pain...

Riele: That's not your fault. Secret pain is secret for a reason.

Jace: But I should have been able to tell! You went through so much and I wasn't there for you!

He started yelling.

Jace: What kind of boyfriend can't be there for his girlfriend?! I was too scared to see you because... Because.... I don't know how to be there for you!

I stood up and walked towards him. I grabbed his chin forcing him to look at me.

Riele: What do you want to do Jace? Do you want to just give up? On me? On us?

I asked him nearly in tears.

Riele: Is it that you can't handle being with a girl from a messed up life? Is that why you kissed Isabela? Cause she's normal?

He said nothing. It's so obvious now. He doesn't want to be with me. I let go of his chin and walked to the door.

Riele: I'm so done Jace. You were meant to be different. You were meant to care

He stared at me as if I broke his heart or something.

Jace: Wait!

Riele: What?!

Jace: Don't leave! I can't lose you again!

Riele: Lose me? I feel like I lost you! The minute that officer took me to the orphanage! You just stopped caring!

Jace: I never stopped caring!

Riele: Yes you did!

Jace: Riele I love you!

Riele: Liar!

Then just like that he stormed over and kissed me roughly.
