Arthur had a glasses obsession. Everyone knew it. It was almost on the same level as Porcoline's food addiction. Except Porcoline had tried to eat iron because he was so consumed with thoughts of food. The day Arthur tries to marry a pair of glasses will be the day he gets that bad. That most likely will not happen because he's more civilized than that... Hopefully.
The obsession. It was usually something that people in town never had to worry about. At first it was kind of cute that he got so excited over glasses, but as people grew used to it, they got bored of it. However, a boring life was unacceptable to a certain fox, and he decided that he was going to use Arthur's boring glasses obsession to make his life somewhat interesting.
Leon approached the lovely Frey one summer day as the first part of his plan. He walked up behind her and gently tapped her shoulder. She turned around and smiled at him.
"Good morning, Leon!" she said.
"Yes, yes, good morning. Put these on." Without any warning, Leon put glasses on her. She frowned and touched them.
"What are these for?" she asked. He smiled at her.
"Nothing. Just keep them on all day for me," he said.
"But why?" she asked.
"Because it makes you look cute," Leon said. She blushed.
"Really?" Her mind wandered to a certain cute enthusiast.
"Yeah. See you," he said, waving at her and beginning to turn away. She grabbed his shoulder.
"Is that it?" she asked.
"Did you expect more?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I just thought you were planning something like usual," Frey said. He grinned.
"Perhaps I am. You'll just have to see," he said, and with that, Leon walked away. Frey sighed and gently touched the glasses.
"What would he have to gain from me wearing these all day long?" she asked herself. She decided to just ignore it and go on with her normal day.
She headed down to the general store to buy some seeds. Doug was standing over the counter, looking bored as he stared down at the wood.
"I'm hungry," he mumbled, picking at a scratch in the counter with his finger.
"As usual," Frey said. Doug stood up straight the second he heard her voice, and his eyes grew wide once he looked at her.
"Frey?" he asked softly.
"Yes?" She tilted her head, the glasses slipping slightly down her nose. She gently pushed them back up.
"What's with the glasses?" he asked. She fiddled with them nervously.
"Nothing really. Why? Do they look weird?" Frey asked. He shook his head.
"Nah. They look cute on you," Doug said. She smiled.
"Thanks."
"Anyway, what did you need?"
"Oh, I just wanted to buy some turnip seeds."
