The second Quidditch game of the year went in the Gryffindors favor, 350 points to 200, against Ravenclaw. Harry and Hermione sat off to the side watching Ron and the rest of the team play. Pansy, who was off with the other Slytherin, kept taking hasty glances in their direction. Obviously wanting to be in their presence instead of the other Slytherin. Draco was not watching the match, which made Harry wonder about where he could have gone.

Hermione noticed this too and they discussed in the topic in reticent voices as they made their way to the celebration party in the common room. Ron was with the team in the locker rooms so this gave them some privacy to speak.

"Do you think he stayed in the Slytherin common room?" Harry asked.

"No, remember Pansy said he wasn't in there. He probably just went to the library or something. Honestly, I don't know what good avoiding everyone will do, but if it makes him feel better."

"He could have gone back to the common room."

"Give it a rest my lovesick puppy," Hermione said.

His face grew hot and turned away from her. Harry desperately needed to find Malfoy and talk to him. He could no longer deal with the silence of Malfoy shutting him out. If he could just talk to him, maybe things could go back to the way they were before. But how could he all of a sudden just ignore him, Malfoy knew that Harry felt the same way about him, surely he felt some kind of contentment about the subject.

When they stepped into the portrait hole, they were greeted with many cheerful faces, Ron yelled for them from across the room and they moved through the crowd of people to get to him. "Did you see how great I was today?" Ron asked before lurching into a very detailed, blow-by-blow, story of how the Quidditch match had gone.

They nodded along with his story, laughed when he laughed, smiled when he smiled and clapped him on the back for a job well done. Harry was feeling a bit envious of his friend by the end of his story, he wished he had not punched Malfoy at the last match, then maybe he would have been able to play. Not that it would have mattered a whole lot, Umbridge would have found some other way to get him banned.

Ginny came over looking quite satisfied with herself, she had, after all, caught the snitch and won the game. She told them the story again from her perspective and they let her, even though they had just heard the story from Ron.

Harry who did not feel much like celebrating in the first place, went to bed before everyone else. He pulled out his Marauder's map and looked for Draco's name. He found him in the astronomy tower and brushed his fingers over his name. He thought for a second whether he should slip on his invisibility cloak on and follow him up there. That would give him some time to talk to him alone.

But there was no way he was going to get through the crowd of people down there without somebody noticing, so he stayed in bed and waited for the party to die down. However, it did not, so Harry gave up and went to sleep. Maybe another night, Malfoy would find himself, again, up at the tower or somewhere else secret so that Harry could talk to him.

That night he dreamt of the department of mysteries, although he didn't get anywhere.

Harry has had another occlumency lesson that week which, just like the last one, completely failed. He just couldn't seem to clear his mind of all thoughts, he was too stressed. But he didn't really worry about mastering occlumency. He was in no way, wanting to shut Voldemort out of his head, his curiosity had gotten the better of him and he wanted to know what was behind that door. He could of course, not get to the door if he stopped having the dreams.

After a while of Snape yelling at him to clear his mind, he finally let Harry leave.  Feeling a bit relieved he meandered through the school until he was at the entrance of the astronomy tower. Pushing his way through the door he walked up the steps adversely making sure that he didn't make too much noise. The staircase was dark and Harry found it hard to find where the next step would be, fumbling every once in a while he would stop and make sure he had not been heard. He wasn't sure if Malfoy would be there, but he had gone here every night since the Quidditch match so he assumed he would be.

He opened the door at the top silently and threw off the cloak when he saw the blonde at the other end looking over the edge. Malofy swiveled around at the sound of his cloak hitting the ground and glared.

"Get out. You know I can give you detention for this, Potter."

"Yeah, give me detention, Malfoy. Do it." This made Malfoy scowl harder. And after a long contentious silence, Harry spoke again, "that's what I thought. Now I wanted to talk."

"We have nothing to talk about potter. Now get out" He said . Harry walked over to the edge where he stood. A light, chilly breeze ruffled his hair as he looked out at the moonlit forest and star-strewn sky.

"I see why you come up here," Harry said. Attempting to make him feel more comfortable with his presence.

"No, no you don't." Harry stepped closer so they were only inches apart.

"Then tell me, why do you come up here?"

Malfoy pushed him aside with great force. "Get away from me, Potter," Harry swore he had seen tears well up in his burnished gray eyes. He felt a tug on his heart and he had to stop himself from going after him.

Harry stood for several more minutes staring at the stars that unrolled themselves across the sky. It was then that he decided that he would come back, even if Malfoy was not there. He left the tower before it got too late, he still had several essays to worry about. Although he didn't stress too much, he always had Hermione.

He came back the next night, checking and making sure on his map, that Malfoy was up at the tower. Malfoy didn't seem any more pleased than he had been the night before. "If you keep coming up here, I will have to give detention" he kept threatening over and over again. It was an ineffectual threat however, Harry knew he would never actually give him detention. So he kept coming back, quite enjoying not being ignored by him although, he didn't like how Malfoy would storm off every time he had tried to speak with him. It was starting to get mighty repetitive.

Part of him wondered why Malfoy would keep going to the tower if he knew Harry would show up, the other part of him had a few guesses as to why.

"You know, Pansy and Hermione don't have to know." He told Malfoy one night as he made his way to the door.

"What do you mean by that, Potter?"

"I mean, They don't have to know if we become something." He felt strangely awkward, Malfoys stare made it worse.

"I would never want to become something with you," Malfoy spat.

"We both know that's not true."

A look of sorrow brewed across his thin, pale face and He bit his lip. "Fine," he said infiltrating the dead air. "It is true, I would. But we both know that it's impossible with my father. He would never allow it."

"Your father doesn't have to know. We could keep it a secret from everyone, including Hermione and Pansy."

"You really think we could pull it off?"

"I really think we could," Harry came closer and hesitantly touched his shoulder. "I think if we were careful, we could hide it from everyone. You wouldn't have to ruin your ego."

"You think that's all I care about? Well, I suppose," He reached for the door handle but stopped. " I've been wanting to do this for a long time, Potter." He said turning back around and planting his pale red lips to Harry's, firmly. Harry stood stunned where he stood. But before he could ask questions, Malfoy was out the door.
