So, in the prologue we are introduced to the members of 'The Order of the Stone.' There's Gabriel the Warrior, Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, Magnus the Rogue, and their leader, Soren the Architect.
What we find out later in the the course of the game, is that Ivor, the creator of the Witherstorm, was once a member of the order.
Well, what if Ivor was the real leader of the Order of the Stone?
Here are the evidence:
1. The Amulet
Looking at the order's amulet, You can see the different colors representing the four members of the order. And then you see Ivor's stone is in the middle. We also know it was Soren who crafted the amulet. Why would Soren places Ivor's stone in the middle? Maybe it was for a purpose or, perhaps, representing leadership?
Now, we know that this could have been for another reason, BUT we also know that Soren is very cocky. He wouldn't have placed Ivor's stone in the middle unless he was told to do so or it served a purpose.
However, it could just be for design purposes, because that is one sweet pattern. ;)
2. Tension
Are we the only ones who have been noticing that all of the members of the old order absolutely hate Ivor? Of course, it is after he unleashed the Witherstorm on the world and killed Ellegaard/Magnus, so that may be the reason.
But in episode 1, when Ivor speaks out against Gabriel, he was quoted saying:
"So that's where I went wrong! I simply didn't work hard enough?" ~Ivor
Gabriel seems quite shocked by this and replies "Ivor? Is that really you? How dare you interrupt like this."
If the player interferes by saying "Wait, this guy's a friend of yours?" then Gabriel scoffs and says "He's no friend of mine."
Or if the player asked "Do you know this guy?" Gabriel will reply, "I don't even know if I've ever known him! But what I do know, I didn't like."
Sounds like there is a bit of old rivalry between them.
And in episode 2, if you choose to mention Ivor when speaking to Ellegaard, then she won't reply, but get angry and look at the player blankly.
If the player mentions Ivor to Magnus, then he will say, "Ivor? How in the world did you cross paths with that scam-nugget?"
The list goes on, but these are just a few examples.
If we were in 2015, we'd say "Ivor is grumpy af, of course the order hates him!"
But now we're in 2016, and Episode 5 kicked in.
In Episode 5, Ivor is a lot more cheerful and dorky comparing with the previous episodes. If that's how Ivor behave when he isn't blinded with hatred, we don't think anyone in the order would hate him like we see them in Episode 1 - 4. Even if some of them hated him, they wouldn't had hated him to THAT level, we think they'd act more like Petra who is more an annoyed side in Episode 5.
What caused them to have such hatred towards Ivor?
3. The Command Block
In Episode 4, we learn that Soren cheated fame by using the Command Block to (ahem) kill the Ender Dragon (/kill much?). We also know that this is why Ivor (apparently) left the Order. Well what if they took him down from leadership because he was going to tell the whole world that they were frauds?
This part is a bit shaky, but it does tie in to our theory.
4. MCSM wiki
Before episode 5, everyone thought the five roles of the Order are Warrior, Redstone-Engineer, Rogue, Architect and Potionologist.
Because Ivor is obviously good at potions and stuff.
But, that brought up the question. How does it play out in the NEW Order?
Jesse obviously isn't the Potionologist. Even though s/he may or may not used the potion of leaping from the witch hut in Episode 4, and s/he did enchanted his diamond weapon. That doesn't prove he's the Potionologist.
Welp, the question is easily been answered on MCSM Wikipedia.
According to MCSM Wikipedia, the five roles of the NEW Order is like this, Petra the Warrior, Olivia the Redstone-Engineer, Axel the Rogue, Lukas the Architect and... Jesse the Leader.
The fifth role of the Order is the Leader, not the Potionologist.
So if that plays out in the former Order, that makes Ivor the Leader.
But sadly, there is something that debunks this theory pretty easily...
The Witherstorm
Yes, unfortunately the fact that Ivor sent a Wither to destroy his old friends sort of throws this theory out the window. If he was the leader, then he probably was a very, VERY bad one.
Why would the leader purposely send a monster set to destroy his old friends? And it isn't like he was being subtle, either. He programmed the command block specifically to track the order's amulet and to go after Gabriel. And it was just because he wanted the world to know the truth about the order. And that puts forward another question - Why would he want the world to know that his order lied? The psychology doesn't match up.
So did we just debunk this theory with this fact? Let us know why or why not in the comments.
