Aman's p.o.v

I woke up to the sound of the bedroom door opening. Lilly came in freshly showered and dressed. She turned around and leaned against her dressing table looking at me. "I'm going for breakfast with the girls." She smiled. The girls made her really happy and she finally got to spend some time with them! She walked over to me. "Take care of Aaryan okay. And don't get into trouble with my parents."

"Come on Lil, it's not like this is my first day with Aaryan right?"

"I know babe. But.."

"I understand." I replied quickly. "Have fun with the girls Lil."

"I will. I love you."

"I love you too."

And with that, she left the room.

I waited for a while before heading down for breakfast. Lilly did mention something about pancakes. I eased Aaryan off my shoulder and went to the bathroom to freshen up before heading down. I really hope her parents like me. Cause I really like her.... I think aunty likes me.... but uncle... barely spoke to me since I arrived. And if he doesn't like me... Lilly might be gone.... And if she is gone, I don't know what I'll do and Aaryan... Let's not think about that.

Making my way down the steps, I smelt pancakes. And instantly felt like I was home. Back in London. I haven't gone back in 4 years. I don't know when I will go back. But this definitely smelt like home. "Good morning aunty ji." I greeted Lilly's mum.

"Ah, good morning Amandeep! Did you sleep well?" She asked.

"Yes aunty. And please call me Aman."

"Alright Aman. Do you want pancakes?"

"Yes please!" I nodded. Smiling.

A few moments later I very sleepy looking Aaryan walked into the kitchen. "Naniiiii" He whined.

"Yes baba?" She asked him bending down to meet his eyes.

"Pancakes?" He asked, opening his big brown eyes. Lilly does that too he noticed, when she wanted something. She would open her eyes and bat her eyelashes at him. Always works, gets me every time.

"Of course! Anything for you. Shall we go wash up first?"

Aaryan nodded and she brought him up to the bathroom.

"Amandeep?" A voice called out to me.

Uncle ji.

"Yes uncle ji." I stood up turning around face him.

"Once you're done, I need you to come up to the office."

"o-okay uncle ji."

Nodding he walked away.

Oh no. What did I do.

Lilly's p.o.v

Hashbrowns, pancakes, maple syrup, eggs, orange juice, French toast, oatmeal.

Breakfast with my girls. This was great. It was nice to hang out with them again. Moving to LA was a decision I made and the price I paid was not being able to spend time with my family and friends. Which kind of sucked. But I mean they support everything I do.... I know I always have them. "Hey Lil," Anoshinie nudged me. "You okay? You zoned out..."

"Sorry, I was just thinking."

"About Aman?" She teased, making the rest of the girls laugh.

"No, Nanu stoppppp" Blushing, I buried my face in my hands.

"Tell u about him Lils." Sheena replied leaning forward.

"Ya Lil! I wanna know. Nosh says he is amazing!" Nandini continues.

"He is amazing guys. You have to meet him soon." I reply them, I knew I was blushing and I knew I had a huge smile on my face but I didn't care.

"Awwww.... This is cute." Sheena sighed. "I haven't seen you this happy.... Since..." She trailed off. I knew who she was talking about. Adrian....

"Let's not talk about douchebags who can do the dirty but can't bear the consequences." Anoshinie leaned back against her chair and crossed her arms. She has always didn't really like Adrian... But I obviously loved him and I didn't see the bigger picture but she did and now... I have Aaryan. But he is a blessing...

Sheena murmured an apology. "Girl, let's leave it. I got something great out of the relationship right? I mean Aaryan is amazing and he had contributed so much to my growth." Anoshinie leaned towards me and gave me a hug. Strangely, it was something I needed and maybe a hug from Aman... But right now, I was with them and I wanted to make the most of it before returning to him. "Shall we make a move girls?" I asked trying to change the topic. They nodded together and we left the place. We had to walk to the corner where we parked the car.

"Hey Lilly!" A voice called out from behind us. I recognized the voice immediately. Adrian.

Oh no.

Aman's p.o.v

I walked up the stairs and stood by the office. Taking a deep breath in, you can do this Aman. You've got this. I knocked on the door. "Come in."

"Uncle ji, It's me. Amandeep." I replied walking in slowly.

"Ahhhhh.. Amandeep. Take a seat please. Nodding, I took a seat in front of his desk and kept my hands on my lap. Damn, this is nerve wrecking. You've got this Aman. Breathe. "So, tell me about you Amandeep."

This is like an interview. Actually it's worst. "Oh... well... for starters I moved to LA about 2 years ago to pursue art. That is going well. And-"

"Your career is to make art?" He questioned. I felt my heart race.

"Well, yes uncle ji. My art tells a story. Something that I might not be able to express into words for example. I also do commissions for people. They request art pieces for their loved ones and things like that."

He doesn't like me at all.... This is not good. There was a long pause of awkward silence.

"Well Amandeep." He began. "That's great!! Creativity is important for young people and as long as you are happy. Than that's good enough for me." Phew. That's a relieve.

"Thank you, uncle ji. This means a lot to me."

He smiled and nodded. "I understand why Lilly likes you now. You are just like her in several ways. And you have this amazing energy. I really like it. Unlike that Adrian." Confused. Puzzled. Adrian? And then, I put the pieces together. Adrian. Lilly's ex? "You looked like you've never heard of Adrian before." I shook my head. "Lilly has never told you?" He looked at me.

"Uncle ji, I try not to bring it up. I want her to tell me when she's ready. And it doesn't look like she wants to talk to be about it just yet.."

"Aman, it's been 7 years."

"I know, but..." I didn't know how to respond.

"Adrian and Lilly were together for over 3 years. I guess she really loved him. She trusted him and everything he said. Like I mean everything." He sighed heavily before continuing. "And then, when she needed him the most, he dropped her off at the abortion clinic and left. She has never seen or heard from him since." Pinching the bridge of his nose he looked up at me. "You're the first person she has actually been this sure about. You have a special place in her heart Aman. Please. Don't hurt her. She's been through a lot and raising Aaryan alone wasn't easy for her."

"Uncle ji, I would never think of hurting her. You have my word uncle. She's really special to me and I would never do that to her."

"Thank you Amandeep. It means a lot to aunty and I."

"I understand uncle ji. You have my word. I am going to be with her. I may not have been there in the beginning, but I plan to stay till the end."

For the first time that day, I saw a smile spread across his face. That was special to me.
