Safe Haven

School.

Months passed and today was Aaryan's first day at his new school. Aaryan came into their room screaming waking both of them up. "MUMMY DADDY!! SCHOOLLLL" The boy squealed as he jumped on Aman. The little boy ran out of the room and waited for the pair in the living room.

"I think he's a bit excited." Aman laughed as he rolled out of bed. "Good morning beautiful" He added as he walked into the bathroom. Lilly followed after him shortly, pressing a kiss on his shoulder as she wrapped her hands around his bare chest.

"Good morning."

After freshening up, they walked out to find Aaryan dressed in his new button down uniform. Lilly prepared his breakfast. "You look handsome in that uniform little man." Aman smiled at Aaryan.

"Thanks daddy." He replied walking towards Lilly. After breakfast, the three of them drove down to Aaryan's new school and stood outside together.

Aman knelt and hugged him. "Have a good day at school buddy. Remember what mama and I told you about school okay? I love you buddy."

Aaryan nodded. "Okay daddy. I love you too buddy."

"See you after school Aary. I am so proud of you buddy!" Lilly held back the tears. She leaned in and kissed the top of his head and waved goodbye as he entered the classroom.

Aman wrapped his hand around her waist as they exited the school. The two of them sat in the car. "So this is what it would be like if we met without Aaryan..." Lilly looked over at Aman.

"I hate it." Aman added.

"He'll be back in a few hours." She laughed at how silly he was being. "I love how much you love him." She leaned over and kissed his cheek making him smile.

"Starbucks?" Aman asked as he drove out of the carpark. Lilly nodded. Aman brought her hand to his lip and kissed it. "I love you."

Here's to experiencing more new things together.

The hours passed as they cuddled at home and watched movies as they waited to go pick Aaryan up.

They were one of the first parents there. Lilly and Aman walked into the classroom. "Mummy! Daddy!" Aaryan giggled when he saw them.

"Hey buddy! How was school?" Lilly asked kneeling down in front of Aaryan.

He pulled out a picture from his bag. "I drew this for us! When we move to our new home! We can put it on the fridge or the front door!" He exclaimed.

Lilly smiled at his excitement. "I'm sure it will look amazing Aary!" Aman added as he took the drawing examining it. It was a drawing of the 3 of them in front of the hospital. And then Aman remembered it was the first time Aman met Aaryan. And that was the start of the life he never thought he would have. But he wouldn't have it any other way.

Aaryan walked in front of them and to the car with his drawing in hand. Aman gently squeezed Lilly's hand. He leaned in and pressed a kiss to the side of her head. "I love you" he whispered. "You're amazing." He didn't know why but he felt the need to tell her that...

Lilly looked over at him and smiled slowly. And that's what he lived for; her smile.
