   "Nina......they were dying."

Time seemed to have stopped for a second. The information hadn't completely registered in Ninas head so all she could sputter out was "What!?"

Massaging his temples, Dave motioned for Nina to follow him. He had not expected this to happen at all. Nina didn't even look sick, she looked like a completely healthy wolf, so the question he was dying to know was......why was her wolf white?

"I asked one of our pack doctors if he could take a look at you"

"Alpha. Not to be disrespectful or anything, but I think i'm completely fine"

Dave glanced at Nina and sighed "I know Nina, you look fine too" He took a short breath "The thing is, I've only ever seen a white wolf two times. They are extremely rare to come by, and when you do come by them, they're either dead, or about to die"

Nina wondered for a second before asking "How do they die"

Dave didn't know whether he should tell her or not. After all, she could potentially have the same fate

"Well?" Nina pushed. She wanted to know how all those other wolves died. What if she died the same way?

"Don't worry. we wont"

"How do you know!?"

"I just do. Trust me"

"They went rabid" Nina looked towards the alpha to see if he was kidding but his face was serious and he was still walking in the direction of the healer house.

"Rabid!? Like 'i'm gonna bite your head off and eat you' rabid?"

The alpha nodded.

"They lose sense of who they are. They do things they normally wouldn't do and they have no realization its them doing it. By the time a wolf is rabid, its too late to save them"

"How does that even happen"

Dave look at Nina before shrugging "From what I've seen, it looks the wolf completely takes over, but I don't know. No one does. I've heard they're trying to find a cure but how do you find a cure for something you don't know the cause of?" He closed his eyes and sighed "I'm sorry Nina, as I said, I've only ever encountered two white wolves. One which was dead, and the other was killed"

That was it for the conversation. The rest of the walk to the healers house was simply Nina looking at the surroundings of the pack. She looked at the sky. The trees. The happy people. Everything here seemed so much more happier. She also would have been happy, if she wasn't just told she could potentially become a crazy cannibalistic werewolf.

Stopping in front of a large white building, Nina followed the alpha to the doorstep. Unlike the other homes, this place had two double doors. Each white, with a large black medical cross.

The alpha raised his hand and gave three booming knocks. Moments later, the same male that he was talking to earlier opened the door.

"This is Zeta" The man smiled at Nina before gesturing them inside.

"I've asked him to run some tests in order to determine your.....condition."

Nina followed Dave and Zeta into a room that looked more like solitary confinement and less like a doctors office

"We actually have to hook you up to a couple machines we'll be bringing in here so uhh..." Zeta rubbed the back of his neck "were gonna have to strap you to a chair...just in case...you kinda go wild on us.." at this point Zeta was looking around the room avoiding eye contact with Nina. His face was also a little bit red but Nina didn't understand what he meant so she turned to the alpha.
