"You need to let me see her!"

"Ma'am I am under strict orders right now. No one from this pack has permission to see her."

"She's my daughter!"

"ma'am. Again. Its not up to me. These are my alphas orders."

Nina groggily opened her eyes, only to find herself in an unfamiliar room. She tried getting up but as soon as she lifted her head a dreadful pain hit her.

"Jesus get back down!"

"Frost? You feel that too?"

"No shit Sherlock. It feels like someone's sawing my brain in half."

"Why are you feeling the pain too?"

"I honestly don't even know how this works."

"Me neither...." An awkward moment of silence passed before Nina tried getting up again. Once more, the pain hit her, although this time it was more bearable.

Groaning, Nina got out of the bed she was in and began walking towards the door. She couldn't remember much about what happened, only that she began to freak out.

"You freaked out alright."

"You remember what happened to me?"

"No...not really." Rolling her eyes, Nina reached the door and was about to open it but voices outside stopped her.

"I need to see her! Please!" A weeping voice that sounded strangely familiar said.

"You can't do th— "Suddenly the door swung open and Nina came face to face with her mother.

"Oh my poor baby!" The teary eyed woman stepped closer to embrace Nina but the blonde jumped back and got into a defensive position.

"Nina. Oh my gosh. What have they done to you!?" Elizabeth Gray stepped forward again but Nina gave a warning growl.

"Don't you dare come closer."

"What the hell are you doing in here!" Maya suddenly stepped into the room and Nina's mother turned around to glare at the intruding girl.

Seeing that her mother was distracted, Nina made a dash for the door.

"Nina darling wait!" Ignoring her mother, Nina grabbed Mayas hand and the girls took off running. They ran out of the house, only to be hit with the ugly reality that they were stuck with the Bloodhound pack until the alpha was done with his work.

"You know," Maya started "I could ask my dad if we could go back early." Nina looked at Maya and was about to speak when she realized the two were still holding hands. Quickly letting go and stepping away from Maya, Nina directed her eyes somewhere else and responded.

"Y-yea. If you don't mind." Maya seemed disappointed that Nina let go of her hand but she shrugged it off. If Nina wasn't ready, then she wasn't ready. Didn't she also have a mate? What was that about? Maya decided she would ask when Nina was in a more stable condition.

As the girls began walking, they realized the Bloodhound pack couldn't be in any worse of a condition. Not only was the forest around them completely burnt, but the sky had turned black because of all the smoke and debris. All the surrounding pack houses were also burnt to the ground. Only a couple of houses remained standing, and those were now filled with people.

"I feel bad for them."

"I don't." Nina mumbled this under her breath but from the way Maya looked at her, she must have heard.
